I would like to think marrone doesn't believe in that bs
I love the multiple references to SF giving people 'game tape' of how to beat our D.

The opponents are the only teams that watch 'game tape' and make adjustments?

Well, this team has shown a couple times this year that when it's going bad, they either just don't know how, or are way too late in trying to make adjustments.

I want to know how anyone watching television has any idea if they are making [BLEEP] adjustments.  Gimmee a break.

Bad Blake game out during a west coast game.

Hopefully that means good Blake for the next 5 games!
In retrospect, blake started oit bad, but did put togeter some good drives.

3 of Ints I don't think were all on him either.

Cole.not making an effort
Wr doesn't turn around this one I'm not sure if bad throw or miscommunication
Lb makes a.very great leaping play

He battled back which normally he implodes.

He got us back into the game.

This loss is definitely on the Defense. They were beyond pathetic and that's being nice.

Did the defense play well? Certainly not.

However all 3 of Blake’s picks led to points. 20 points to be exact. Pick 6, one taken to the 18 and one to the 26. Again, not excusing the D but had Blake not turned it over, Jags probably win that game.

And if the Defense isn't complete garbage, Blake isn't forced to throw it 50 times and two of those picks probably don't ever happen. It goes both ways.

One of those INTs (the 2nd one) were just a great play by the Defender.

Edit: And I don't even need to bring up the stupid penalties by the Defense that basically gave them free points as well.
The defense was bad and Blake wasn't good enough to compensate. Both deserve blame. He's still our Achilles heel despite an awesome December stretch. He's still "Blake".

After everything, BB5 had them back within 4 (obviously should have been 3) with close to 2 minutes and 3 Sos.

That speaks volumes compared to years past.

His body language, his attitude, his overall vibe.....a world of difference.

How a guy bounces back from adversity means the world.

It was a 19-23 score, with 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter when our Defense choked away this victory. We had them backed up at their own 14 yard line. Very first play went for 2 yards, but Jack gave them a free 15 yards because of a stupid taunting penalty. 1st and 10 at their own 31, instead of 2nd and 8 at their own 16.

Two plays later, they're at their own 45 and Ngakoue gives them another free 15 yards on a stupid unsportsmanlike penalty. Gave them the ball at our 40 yard line. 2 idiotic penalties that completely switched the field for them, when the game was still well in hand and we had them backed up at their own 14 to start the fun.

That drive ended with them scoring a TD and put them up 30-19. They ate up 6:30 minutes of game time and it's a completely different game at that point, than when they were only up 23-19. Blake had only thrown 1 INT at this point, his other two followed after this drive. That complete melt down by the Defense on this drive cost us this game.

edit: actually he did have 2 INT at that point, the 2nd one happened a drive or two before the above drive I'm talking about here, but that was a great play by the Defender of the 49ers.

And none of this disputes anything I said. Bad defense, bad coaching, bad Blake, bad game.

No need to dilute what happened down to just being defense. Was a big part of what went wrong no doubt. Like any game there's several other factors at play too.

I agree, just a bad game top to bottom. Hopefully it gets put in the past, better now than a week and a half from now.

So in other words, you don't know.

This 'adjustment' thing is so overblown.  They practice a gameplan all week and have about five minutes at halftime to make minor tweaks.  What are they going to do, formulate an entire new gameplan in 5 minutes?  I don't care what plays are called, if you're out of position or blowing your assignments...you're out of position or blowing your assignments.

The adjustments really are made throughout the game. Sometimes there isn't an adjustment to make. Sometimes you just are getting worked by a certain player.
Apparently this year, it's pass catching RBs/FBs and move TEs.
Now I'm sure at half, the HC can get with the other coaches and say "hey we're getting worked doing x, lets do less of it, or get a safety over top from here out"
But again... those adjustments should be made throughout the game, by the coordinators.

Perhaps, Wash just doesn't have any answers in his book for what has been really effective on us, which is the short, quick inside passes to TEs and backfield guys.
Perhaps we'll have something in place the next time we face a team that utilizes what the Cards and 9ers did so well against us.
-------------------------------
I know this... of our 5 losses, the Cards and the 9ers were the only teams that consistently moved the ball on us. tacks was a low scoring defensive affair until they broke a couple late runs and our D was so tired from an ineffective O. Jests game was 2 gashing runs that was the entirety of their offense that day. And the Rams were spotted 14 by STs.

Bortles didn't have his best game this past weekend (actually was a good game outside of 2 INTs, that one was a helluva catch I don't put it on Blake), but he certainly didn't have his worst. Which this season, imo, was the Jets game. He was sub 50% comp 140 yards for a 4.0 ypa.
When the defense plays poorly and undisciplined (12 freaking penalties) this team won't win.
We can overcome a bad Blake game with this defense more often than not. But Bortles can't overcome a bad defensive game.
Short quick passes to RBs? Man I hope the Chargers don’t get in.

However, we will have played all possibly 6 seed opponents outside of the Bills so we got tape on all of them.

I honestly don’t care who it is but I just wanna know who it is lol gotta prepare myself

As a matter of fact is was that game where we really saw it start to be successful...
we just ended up winning the game.
But Eckler was tearing us up more than Gordon.
