"Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Bortles was utterly horrendous, and frankly, lucky not to get benched. His stats do not tell the story of a quarterback who was tossing painful wobblers all evening. His motion has become a cross between side-armed Matthew Stafford and Tim Tebow. At times it looked like he was trying to toss a fully-baked turkey. All of Bortles' "production" came in garbage time. He was 8-of-16 for 64 yards as the Jags trailed 27-0 at halftime. Bortles was bad enough to get his coach fired, something that seems like a distinct Friday possibility. Bortles will be a bottom-barrel QB2 against the Chiefs in Week 9."

I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read about the fully baked turkey, I about lost my [BLEEP] when I read that.
Quote:Now you're really clueless. Not my fault you have me mixed up with someone else [BAD WORD REMOVED]. Never once did I make any mention to any "slot WR QB" replacing Bortles you nimrod. They do let anyone post here, you're still able to post here for some reason and nobody likes you.

You bring SO MUCH to the table with your facts. Talk about a wasted post.

What do you know, have no response to being completely idiotic when responding to me earlier so you just resort to "a wasted post" as you so call it. Tell me again what you bring to the table? McDonalds?

Bortles LED the NFL last year with 72 passes over 20 yards.

Bortles just threw for 260 yards in ONE half when Olson put him in a hurry up, shotgun 2 minute offense and stopped trying to play smash mouth football with the NFLs worst rushing offense.

The coaching staff doesn't put players in their correct positions; not utilizing their strengths. Don't tell me Bortles can't spend 75-80% of the game in the shotgun.....Rivers, Brady, And Brees ALL do that.......

Then again they have McCoy, Belchick, and Sean Payton and we have Paul Casey Gus Bradley.

You realize the Titans where up comfortably I think it's fair to assume they were not trying as hard in the 2nd half as they were in the first half. And your stat is another thing that can be quite misleading, for instance the pass to Hurns for the TD vs. the Colts in London was a pass play longer than 20 yards, yet it was a somewhat simple dump-off that does not strike me as great throw. What comes to my mind when I think about past games of Bortles are games like the one vs. the Saints last year where we got beat up pretty bad against a terrible defense and then Blake goes and gets some garbage TDs, similar to yesterday, inflating his numbers. Or the game against the Colts last year, where we dropped 50 points despite his lackluster play. The TD to Hurns in that game was a throw he had no business throwing whatsoever. When you watch a Jags game, 50% of his passes I shake my head and think what was that, 40% I think okay, average and 10% - max - I think great throw. To me that's not good enough

It might not be good enough for YOU. But that Jags are not finding another 30-35 TD, 4,000 yard QB for 30 years so you might want to understand that coaching matters

He's already been told numerous times Bortles got majority of his passing yards in garbage time. He calls me a waste of ability to post yet he hand picks stats to throw at us and chooses to ignore anything negative thrown back at him. He's the epitome of a troll.

If the Titans wanted to run up the score they probably would have dropped 50+ on us and allowed basically nothing.

.

To educate you.....

Bortles QB rating is....

QB rating first quarter - 36.0

QB rating second quarter- 90.5

QB rating third quarter- 90.2

QB rating fourth quarter- 101.2

This is a fluke. Last year Bortles played well in the first quarter. You take away first quarter and Bortles is elite. He had a 88 QB rating last year........

The play calling in the first quarter has been AWFUL. Seriously. Try watching the games. It's run, screen, incomplete and punt EVERY opening series. Nothing deep

. Garbage time is irrelevant. It just proves Gus Bradley can't stop anyone. What was YOUR excuse when Bortles threw 5 TD vs Titans last game and Gus defense lost 39-42?

Once again, it doesn't matter what Bortles does when you have the worst scoring defense in the NFL year after year. Go ahead and debate it....you're wrong
lol I remember all of the sportsmanship police on here last time, " Duh when does garbage time start in a football game?"

This is why you take garbage time stats into account.

Garbage time is irrelevant? The titans were in prevent D at the begginging of the third quarter.

You can say that with Philip Rivers entire career. It's irrelevant. You're either a 30-35 TD, 4400 yard passing QB or you're NOT. Jags aren't finding another one of these QBs nor have they the past 21 years. The drafting another QB argument is hilarious
this is why stats are sometimes utterly useless.

Blake was terrible and embarrassing... just like he was on Sunday.  When he was down 27-0 and the Titans started playing softer defense, we started moving the ball.

Fools gold, these stats.

Ok but this is ONE game. What about last December when Bortles threw for 5 TDs and his defense lost 39-42? Was that garbage time? Should the Jags look for a new QB who may be able to throw for 6 TDs in one game at age 23?! That will be easy to find.

Take away 1st quarter and he's elite? LOL. The first quarter is part of the game. You are absolutely blinded by Bortles. To the point you're wanting to manipulate stats to favor him. Last year Blake played well in the first quarter?? We haven't scored a TD in the 1st quarter for over a year! What the heck are you talking about?
Quote:If YOU say so. Polians taught me more than anyone on this message board would know.
So go talk to them and leave all us idiots alone.

Well to educate YOU as well....Bortles had an 85.0 QB rating in the first quarter last year.

Last year, the coaching staff used to throw the ball down the field. This year they play smash mouth football when Bortles is the leading rusher.

It's 100% coaching

He was playing against the worst team in the league last year dude.

Get a grip.

Translation: let's go draft a 15-21 TD QB like Leftwich, Garrard, or Gabbert.

That will help this team with no defense.
Quote:I know this board is full of Blake haters but Bortles is 24 years old and has LOTS of talent.

Bortles 27 TD and 4,352 yard season would be 2nd BEST QB season in Jaguars 21 YEAR HISTORY after Bortles 35 TD and 4,400 yard season.

Jags are LUCKY to have Blake. They won't find better. If they had a real head coach, I think Bortles becomes top 3 QB in NFL

STOP, JUST LIKE LAST YEAR IT ALL COMES IN GARBAGE TIME WHEN THE OTHER TEAM HAS BACKUPS IN AND PLAYING PREVENT... JUST LIKE LAST NIGHT, HE STRAIT UP SUCKS
But why does no other bad qb put up stats like his?
