He can throw for 60 TD's and it wont matter squat because his 1st thru 3rd quarter play is woefully inept. Until that improves, which it has not in three years now the team is doomed to failure. Simply cannot win with QB play as inept as his has been.

Why are you people arguing with this guy??
It is painfully obvious this guy was a friend of Bortles growing up or somehow has a crazy obsession with him.  I want Bortles to work out for the Jags just as much as anyone, but for this guy to go to the lengths he has to prove he's a good qb is asinine.

PFT provided the numbers for me today.  His numbers tell the whole story.  We are so bad at the beginning the game moving the ball that teams let up on us and we are finally able to move it on soft zones.  Blake Bortles lifetime stats.

I could care less how the defense does, I watched how Blake threw the ball.  When a received is just standing there and you cant hit him in the numbers, there is something wrong.  He either throws it above the guys head, in the dirt, or 2 to 3 yards to the side of the guys.  Allen Robinson couldn't even control himself last night he was so frustrated with it.  Let me guess, you'll somehow blame this on the one pro bowler we have...

1st Quarter:  1,598 Yards, 4 touchdowns

2nd Quarter:  2,356 Yards, 15 touchdowns

3rd Quarter:  1,912 Yards, 13 touchdowns

4th Quarter:   3,364 Yards, 36 touchdowns

Bch, sorry...the guy is so far out in left field you have to.

4 TDs in the first quarter is unreal bad. I bet Gabbert had more in the 1st quarter than Blake.
beef up the garbage time stats so we can trade him in the offseason to the Cardinals where he can sit behind Palmer and learn from him and Bruce Arians. We could get a 2nd round pick for him right? If we end up with a top 5 pick we can go QB and trade Bortles. Unless our next coach and fix him.

lol, no GM is gonna trade a 2nd round pick for Bortles. The guy doesn't even know how to throw a football.
Quote:100% coaching and scheme.
Ok then, you tell us since you have mentioned so many times how superior your football knowledge and connections are. What is different about the coaching and scheme from last year? Blake was ELITE last year by your words, and nothing has changed with the coaching or system, so why is he not ELITE this year? If anything, with one more year of continuity in the system as well as being a year older he should be even better. So why isn't he?
It is the exact same coaching staff that helped Blake make the mechanical adjustments from awful in his rookie season to still bad but not nearly as bad last year. Do you really think they just decided to throw all of that in the trash and coach Blake to start throwing like you are an average middle school QB again? Obviously not, this regression is almost exclusively on him...for whatever reason.

I don't know, I'd rather argue with you over college football, but I don't know what we'd argue about. UF is going to smash UGA tomorrow so.
Quote:I don't know what is going on right now or who to blame, but this team needs to figure something out on offense in the first half of the game because they are getting flat out embarrassed

They just need to get to Garbage Time earlier in games.  Why wait til the 3rd quarter?  If we can get behind by 20 in the 1st quarter we can play Garbage Time for the rest of the game and probably win!

And beef up my FF stats. I didn't realize Bortles would be making literally all of his numbers in garbage time this year. I thought he'd make some of the stats in garbage time, but not all.

Great analysis. And I might add:

-43 per cent of his TD were when trailing by double digits.

-Most intercepted QB since he entered the league.

-Most batted passes QB since he entered the league

-Most sacked QB since he entered the league (ok this one not entirely his fault especially the first couple of seasons)

All this without counting his motion, his accuracy and his awful decision making and the fact he keeps making the same mistakes (just like he did last year).

Sad thing is if spacecoast were here right now ranting, he would probably only acknowledge the bolded stat and ignore everything else as if it didn't mean anything.

Ahah right! well a couple of weeks ago he even posted that Blake turned down a contract extension last year (which they couldn't even offer him LOL)...just says enough of the character we are dealing with.

Translation: he sold him some life insurance or a new set of tires or something.

This.  At least I got some empty fantasy stats last night.

Hey now new tires are vital when you're traveling all over looking for new clients.

I didn't bother checking, I have Julius Thomas as my TE and Dez as my WR so I'll just give in that I failed my league as much as the Jags have failed us this season.
You guys should be attacking the O-line 90% and the QB/RBs the other 10% for our offensive struggles. With no blocking and protection, nothing good happens. Players on that line have to step up.
Quote:Mariota 100times greater than Bortles, in throwing motion, footwork,  arm strength, accuracy, poise, mobility, awareness, read defenses/coverage

There is the odd Titans fan who wants to get rid of Mariota lol
