Remember when people on this board were talking about Jags being screwed with the cap?

Well they just carried over 12 million into this season. 12 million + Jackson being cut + Hyde being cut+ Church being cut+ Campbell restructure.... Cap is fine everyone.
Agree. Some Sportswriter wrote about it not long ago.

I’m not worried about being under the cap.

My concern is extending Ramsey and Ngakoue.
Looks like that will be fine as well as long as they don’t pay stupid millions for a QB or overspend on other free agents.
Yeah priority should be getting Ramsey and Ngakoue locked up for future.
Great news. I was thinking we'd only have like $7 mil to carry over.

Agreed. Just get Ja'Wuan James and Jared Cook... and then just go mid-tier or minimum wage guys after that.

I think they will get resigned next year when Campbell, Gipson, and Dareus will likely get cut

Looks like they are making room for Foles

That's good news, but some people want to sign Foles in free agency, which would add $25-30 million to our cap. That would be devastating. As long as we don't go nuts on free agency, we'll be fine. It's not so much what our cap situation will be going into free agency, as much as the players we target which could create a problem.

Did you notice the Rams have the least amount of cap space? Their go for broke season seems to be working out pretty well. You would rather save for the future when you are in the SB window?  Hard decision, isn't it?

Yea and you know why? Because they have a solid QB on a rookie contract... They're paying him $28m over 4 years and not throwing away $25m++ per year, on some average at best QB like Foles etc.

They're just more proof that you draft your QB and build around him on his rookie contract. Not cap strap yourself by going after some FA QB, who is a FA for a reason... AKA because they really aren't any good.

The Saints were so stupid to go after Drew Brees.

You didnt watch us play the year before last when we were some what healthy?  No team in the league good of had a good season with the injuries we had this year.  We have pretty much the same team as the year we made the AFC championship team.  Only if we could add a SB MVP QB to replace Bortles

So Foles is Brees now?

Foles is an average QB.

?  He said " Not cap strap yourself by going after some FA QB, who is a FA for a reason... Philly has 2 good QBs, so they stuck with the younger and cheaper one.  Foles is a SB MVP QB with multiple NFL passing records.

So you really had to go back 13 years just to find an example of it working out??

You're also leaving out that they drafted Rivers, as well as the main reason why they moved on from Brees... Because he literally almost had his throwing arm ripped off his body...

He dislocated his shoulder through the bottom joint, which is very, very rare. Dr. James Andrews who did the surgery, said it was one of the most unique injuries of any athlete he's ever treated. Not only did he dislocate the shoulder very badly, he also had a 360 degree tear in his labrum and 50% tear in his rotator cuff.

Nobody knew if he'd ever play again after that injury, or for how long/how well if he could. That was a very serious injury and coupled with the fact they had just drafted Rivers and had to get him on the field, that's why Brees hit FA all the way back in 2006.

Manning, Favre, Montana, Warner, Gannon, Cousins etc.

It is possible for a team to have 2 good QBs and not be able to afford them both

Bridgewater is a FA and he was named along side the greatest to ever play this game at one point

Campbell likes the idea of getting Foles, he wants to win a ring before he retires and he knows Foles would give us a damn good shot.

So a few guys that were already locked into the HoF when they tried their hand at a couple last ditch efforts on a different team, after they spent 13+ years on a single team?

Montana really wasn't even that good in his two years with the Chiefs. You could tell his days were over.

Favre had one bad year with the Jets. One good year with the Vikings, then one bad year with the Vikings after he left the Packers. That was with a young Adrian Peterson and he was running wild on everybody.

Manning is arguably the greatest QB ever and again, like the Brees situation, young QB and serious injury concerns (remember Manning missed the entire 2011 season because of his neck issues) pushed him out the door.

Warner was so up and down and really didn't do anything unless he had great weapons. He had some really ugly seasons in between his early days with the Rams and late days with the Cardinals. Honestly he's probably a little overrated at the end of the day and he wasn't really even that thought of when the Cards signed him. He was coming off 3 straight, back to back bad seasons with the Rams, then Giants.

Gannon? really... lol

Cousins? LOL Yea because he got the Vikings real far this season after they unloaded the truck on him huh..

Foles is literally Flacco 2.0. He's living off of his red hot Super Bowl run at the end of last season, where he was lucky enough to ride the wave of a red hot team. Flacco never came close to living up to the contract he got after his super bowl run and neither will Foles.

They went for broke, but they already had a good QB on a rookie contract. That makes a HUGE difference. I also don't think Foles makes much of a difference on our team.
It's like people forget Foles has a ring and superbowl MVP to his name. But yeah you're probably right, he's trash.

People never bring up his multiple NFL passing records either, like most TDs in a game and record for straight completions in a game.  They dont like to bring up his 27 TDs and 2 Ints in season either.  Straight trash lol
