This on its own means nothing.  This has nothing to do whatsoever with the other unless you happen to be one of those mountain builders.

Isn't that really what I said? One speeding ticket doesn't mean much?

Also looks like I was right about his behavior. Almost doubling up the speed limit the last time he was caught.

Again, where should we send Flo for your lap dance since you're apparently the one human being on the planet who has never exceeded the speed limit?

Not from the judicial system and or the police department unless an warrant is issued. Tallahassee will send you a notice that your license will be suspended along/w your tag. Keep in mind that 4Nette wasn't in town during the off season.

When did he truly realize that he was delinquent prior to his arrest?

NH3...

I think it was from a ticket in November 2018. The court date is usually only a few weeks after that.
It's a simple thing..

Fournette gets a ticket.. immediately gets on the phone with his accountant or financial adviser and tells them.. just got a ticket, i'm gonna text you a picture, pay it for me.

Done.

Yeah. I'd wager about 20-30% of first contract players have their [BLEEP] together enough to do that.

I've known a few NFL players over the years. Many of these guys act like they are still in college only they have money now.
The only furnishings in their ~800K homes were in the video game room, living room (tv and couches) and there's usually an odd bedroom that's just piles and piles of shoe boxes and athletic gear sent to them by endorsements and potential endorsements.
I remember this one guy had about $30K worth of nice custom cabinets in his new house but they had nothing in them but mismatched thrift store dishes/cutlery from his college apartment.

Assuming these guys are organized with their finances (and otherwise) because they have a few million dollars is not wise IMO.

Coupled with his injury history and all of these stupid actions, he's clearly gotta go. Suspension imminent, may as well cut him now.
What is worse is I heard it reported that he did not make use of a dryer sheet nor fabric softener. What the hell kind of animal does that?

The NFL gives plenty of classes and symposiums on the importance of hiring these people to manage your finances and life.

If they don't adhere... once again... it speaks of his maturity and decision making

Right. And most of them still don't do it.

Did you follow every piece of good advice given to you when you were 21 years old??

I didn't.

Yet you still drive in the left lane the entire time.

Yep, just to piss you off.

Pretty much. I’ll do 55-60 most days to and from work just to not get run over. Me and thousands of others are overdue tickets.
I've never understood why professional team don't just have drivers available 24/7 for all their players. Just from a PR issue, I would suspect it would be cheaper than most suspensions and PR hits that players and team take from issues from traffic violations, accidents, DUI/DWI, and possibly even other issues.

Maybe for every player is overkill, but why not all players who have contracts over a certain amount. Lots of corporations pay for drivers for their key employees, especially those with salaries > than $1 million/year.

They should get paid so little for what they do it's sad to me they get so much.

But it's all about market. As a country we are idiotic and entertainment starved so the market says they are worth millions of dollars.

Sad state of the world.

You know, a lap dance from Flo wouldn't be the most terrible thing, would it? Certainly better than if you roll with The General and wait for Shaq to turn up.

ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!!  cut him I cannot take it any longer. What kind of savage does 12mph over the speed limit while wearing clothes that are not soft nor smell like fresh dryer sheets. I don't know how the locker room put with his shananagans this long.

The crime doesn't really matter, it's the fact that he keeps doing dumb crap. He didn't pay a ticket. He's a millionaire, that's just irresponsible which he's shown to be consistently.

He's 24... I'm sure when you were 24 you were the shining example of responsibility, is that right? Never made any mistakes or showed any irresponsibility?

I had already bought my first house at 23. And by 24 I was on my way to improving my career. I have had my share of speeding tickets. But I have never been arrested for failing to pay for it timely. And I have also never been questioned by my employer for throwing [BLEEP] punches on the job or showed up late to team meetings, etc.

Again, he's 24. Not 16 or 18. Stop coddling grown [BLEEP] men and making excuses for piss poor behavior and [BLEEP] decision making. This is why these dumb [BLEEP] continue to get away with it. He's done nothing but continue to display the inability to keep his [BLEEP] together maturely.

I could give two hot [BLEEP] what his "value" is in comparison to my own. The NFL isn't exactly the shining light of morality at the end of the day neither. It still doesn't take that much effort to be a responsible human being and to understand that you're not the [BLEEP] center of the universe. And it's pathetic that a ton of you on here in this thread are just skating over this. He's a dumb [BLEEP]. The fact that he is more valuable is exactly why he should be more responsible because his teammates are depending on him to carry this offense.

"End of story". Such a [BLEEP] statement. LOL. Not trying to make it personal or anything. But at what point do you father figures on here think it's appropriate to stop babying grown [BLEEP] men? 30? 40? Do some of you still suck on your momma's [BLEEP] for comfort? Jesus guys. Take your [BLEEP] teal covered glasses off for once.

As much fervor as some of you guys give off in the Political forum about holding politicians to a high set of standards and responsibility I guess it's okay when this dumb [BLEEP] keeps tripping over himself like a 2 year old without being held accountable right? End of story I guess.

First of all , if you think the bolded text is accurate, you don't read that forum much.

Nobody is coddling Fournette if they say he shouldn't be cut or suspended over this incident, it's just the reality of the industry. His value to the team is what really matters. He's eroding that value, but still not to the point where cutting ties makes sense.

Agreed on the above on both counts. I don't linger around the Political forum too much. But I have seen it get pretty funky and funny over there.

And, again. I have yet to call for Fournette's release, suspension or trade personally. I want him here. I want him to succeed. I just can't understand why some people on here can't simply come to the conclusion that most fans are tired of seeing dumb [BLEEP] like this involving him.

I don't care if he's Joe Blow down the street, the President of the United States or identifies as a level 50 Mohawk Warrior that hails from "Parts Unknown" like the Undertaker. It STILL doesn't take that much effort to be a responsible human being whose considerate of his teammates, fan base and people who cut his checks for a living.

It's embarrassing. And a distraction. He's been so embarrassing that they just had a conversation about said embarrassments in January. So, when people are on here pissing and moaning about this stupid [BLEEP] it's warranted.
I see Fournette is a speed demon just like everybody in Jax thinks they are.  I would humble that non driving fool who thinks they can drive. My car and skills would obliterate anything Fournette drives. Anybody can drive fast in a straight line and weave like a idiot between cars.  It's braking into corners and exiting corners, taking the correct lines, being smooth,  that make a good driver. I would smoke him at autobahn speedway, shifter karts, drag racing, autocross.  "It's  not whether you win by an inch or a mile, winning is winning"
When I was a 21 year old marine, I had a warrant out for my arrest for failing to pay a ticket. A cop had pulled me over a few months earlier for not having a license on the front and back of my vehicle (since I was registered in Florida, that wasn't a requirement). I thought I had it handled after a phone call, but, for whatever reason, it didn't go through. I had been driving on a suspended license for 2 months. I went to the court, paid a fee, and had it handled. The funny thing is, the cop told me he was hitting his quotas and chose that infraction because it was benign, but it could have ended up turning out really badly for me. I could have been in the exact same situation as Fournette. As far as arrests go, this is the most mild thing possible.

HOWEVER, the thing that bothers me, if true, is the "whatever man" response to the police. I understand not seeing them as a friend, but it frustrates me that he showed no contrition. This is not worthy of a suspension by the team or the league. That said, I do think that it would be ideal if he showed some humility. It's personal preference, obviously, but I believe that type of attitude would help him grow both as a football player and a person. Just my 2 cents.
