I really like Fulton, I thought he'd go in the 1st.  He's got good tape.  His NC tape is up and down but to me that doesn't erase the entire body of work.

I hope we pick twice in the second round and twice in the third with a couple of trades up.

Raekwon davis is still there too

Fulton was never the player that people made him out to be - and I was hounded for saying that over in the CFB forum.

I really like Fulton, but we don't need a CB.  I thought he'd go in the 1st.  He's got good tape.  His NC tape is up and down but to me that doesn't erase the entire body of work.
I don't want him and I'm happy with the 1 cb we did take.  Just want S, Wr, OL and some trades of picks or Yann or 4nette.

But that requires trading for 2 picks tomorrow, that would take a ton of capital unless you are envisioning Yannick being the major piece given up.

Yes a reach, I get why they did it though. We had a desperate need at CB. As I said, not mad about the pick.

There were several more talented players than him on the board that we passed on in my opinion.

Wirfs
Jeudy/ Lamb
Wills

CJ fills a huge need and we passed on more talented players (imo) to fill it. That is why I called it a reach.
Gross Matos
Blalock
Fulton
Delpit
Josh Jones
Diggs

We do need another CB, Haybe is the NB you really want to have Herndon as the starter with no competition?
Still so much talent out there at positions of need.

WR: Mims, Shenault, Hamler, Pittman, Higgins
OL: Jones, Cleveland, Hunt, Cushenberry
DL: Blacklock, Gallimore, Davidson, Elliott, Madubuike
S: Winfield, Davis, Delpit

Getting two of those guys tomorrow would be awesome.

CJ fills a huge need and we passed on more talented players (imo) to fill it.  That is why I called it a reach.

It's a reach. He's not a complete CB at that. He's a cover corner that will shy away from contact and tackling. I expect him to get jammed a lot and to be trailing a lot with his speed. Sometimes that works. Sometimes it doesn't.

He was more productive in 2018 and dipped in performance in 2019. They wanted Okudah. Couldn't get Detroit to move off from the 3rd overall pick. That's fine. But they had the pick of the litter at WR, an opportunity to draft a tackle in Wirfs who could push Taylor to LT and move Robinson to G.

It feels like they panicked. I would have been fine with Diggs, Johnson or Fulton tomorrow night in RD2. Darrell Taylor at DE tomorrow night as well instead of Chaisson. Really concerned with that selection. Feels like a need pick to move on from Ngakoue.

Unlike Ngakoue though Chaisson really doesn't have the numbers and an injury concern coming out of LSU that Ngakoue didn't have coming out of Maryland. The defense was an issue. That's fine. What's not fine though is keeping Wash around to coach it again.

They left Minshew out to dry tonight. He lost tonight. They might get a receiver like Higgins, Mims or Pittman Jr. Or they might get a tackle like Cleveland, Jones or Adams. But that group is vastly less dynamic than the likes of Wirfs, Lamb, Jeudy, Ruggs and Jefferson.

Said it earlier. When Robinson gets abused like a turntable again and they fail to stay on the football field because he's putting them in a hole along with everyone else? Just remember tonight. This team trends in the opposite direction every year.

The 49ers "vaunted" defense got beat in that SB and the 49ers lacked the fire power to keep up. Our "vaunted" defense in 2017 only gained us a 10 - 6 record against creampuff QBs. We needed speed and pass protection on offense. They let that opportunity slip by them twice tonight because they're more concerned with making up for the dick measuring contests they've lost with Ramsey and Ngakoue.

I agree there is still tons of WRs out there.
Hunt looks promising but is a RT.
I think at least half of these guys are off the board by the end of the second round.
I think at least two of these safeties are gone in the second round.  maybe, maybe Davis is there in round 3.

I think a relevant question is how would you prioritize the positions?

Need?  BAP?

Which positions would you address and in which order?

This.

We had two picks and the 49ers had two picks.  Our two picks were higher than their two picks.

But their two picks (Kinlaw, Aiyuk) were better than our two picks, IMO.  I hope I am wrong.

I don’t like pre-determining that you have to pick a certain position with a certain pick, but I do think offense has to be the next pick. Jones and any of those receivers I’d be more than happy with. Probably will have to trade up for Jones.

And just have to go BAP with the selection after that. Team just needs talent everywhere.

I fully expect a trade up (or two) tomorrow. 12 picks is just too many imo, and expect move ups from 73 and MAYBE get back into the 3rd from 116.
I like Hamler.

Chaisson was #4 on our board? Does that mean Henderson was #3? Don't believe any of that.

Wirfs and Wills both were RTs in college. Moving either (or Taylor) to LT is a risk of failure above and beyond the normal risk that any player might be a bust.  Maybe we should have picked Becton? The Jags OL coaching hasn't changed, so any OL pick might be wasted no matter how good the prospect is.

Had Thomas still been available then I'd agree that the Henderson pick was a mistake. He played with a sprained ankle in 2019, so his 2018 play is more indicative of his value. With the depth this year I was opposed to taking a WR in round 1 and glad we didn't. Kinlaw would have been the other option. I view him as as much of a drop as the #2 DT as Henderson was as the #2 CB. Unfortunately the draft didn't play out as lucky as 2016 or 2019. Caldwell was apparently trying to trade up which could have had us taking Okudah, Brown or Simmons. I guess the price was too high.

Most likely a SEC player...

Probably Delpit or Davidson from Auburn.
