I hope that Henderson and Chaisson come in right away and play like a pair of seamless veterans that have us all saying "Jalen who? Yannick who?". But on paper and from the stat sheets it's hard to feel "warm and fuzzy" right now.

I don't like seeing players regress in college. Henderson regressed in 2019. If he was as good as Okudah he would have been selected by Detroit. If he was good as advertised. Atlanta would have come up for him.

Add in his unwilligness to get his hands dirty in the tackling department, at his size? That's a problem. Chaisson didn't have enough on paper for me. The ACL and ankle injury is a concern. Seems like we drafted a Jack of all Trades with a Master of None project and Wash and Co. lack the chops to pull anything out of most of the talent they've had over the years.

These were off setting selections to make up for the losses off Ramsey and Ngakoue. Instead of supporting your 2nd year QB they opted to invest in a CB that regressed and a tweener at DE/OLB that has a history of injuries. Still plenty of choices left to make. They might get it done.

I'll remain optimistic. But don't be shocked if they draft Taylor, Swift ot Akers tonight very, very early in RD2 to backfill Fournette's spot on the roster as they've had him on the trading block now for awhile.

About Atlanta and Henderson- I heard this morning, I think it was on the radio, that Atlanta tried to get up to #5, 6, 7, and 8 to select Henderson, and for a variety of reasons, those teams were not willing to make a trade.

If you don't take a RB early, much like the WR position last night. You run the risk of seeing a run at the RB position and you'll miss out on one of the better backs.

Taylor, Swift and Akers will be lucky to make it out of RD2. Perine is okay. Not a fan of him. But he is a Gator. So there's that.

I would be ok grabbing a RB early tonight. Part of me wants Deplit but i would really like to add some starting caliber/high grade players to this offense. This is the third year in a row that we have gone exclusively D in the first round. I was hoping for a oline last night but we have to fill the glaring need for a CB since we decided to offload almost all of our DB's.

Like Bullseye said in another thread- I really hope that we convert our haul of picks that we got for Ramsey into players that are hopefully close to the caliber of what we lost.... I'm trying to be optimistic about it but it tough.

Another thing i was thinking about was the TE situation in tampa. I know Howard's name was tossed around in a few threads before this. But now with Gronk coming in, maybe Tampa would be a little more open to a trade. Say our disgruntled drama queen of a DE and a late pick for Howard?

I think he will be solid. I think most people are more upset with the guys who were still on the board at 9 than they are with the player we took.

"When the pick became official, Caldwell finally exhaled. He hugged his wife, Joelle, and began looking ahead to Friday, with a chance to land at least one specific player (whose identity he did not want to be revealed, for obvious reasons) who he would have been comfortable selecting at 20."

I think it is Mims, Blacklock, Mckinney or Delpit

The following isn't surprising at all.  These two players, along with DE Yetur Gross-Matos ( probably not in play for the Jaguars based on roster ) and Josh Jones. caught my attention as preferred pick # 35 options for the Lions. With the run on CBs as Round 1 moved on being highly noticeable,  there are going to be good opportunities in the early part of Round 2 for teams that addressed CB last night:

"According to Pro Football Focus, Henderson did not allow more than 20 receptions in each of his three years at Florida, and never surrendered more than 390 yards in a year." I did not realize his stats were that good, I must admit. I'm feeling better about the pick today.
just now seeing where Daniel Jeremiahs mock 3.0 had Love goin to the Packers in the first... I'm wondering who his source was? It would be crazy if Jerry bought out Aarons contract cheaper than what Dak asked for and gave up a couple picks. Would be cool to see what Aaron could do there (even tho im not a fan of either persons or teams by a long shot).
