So far, the moves Meyer has made that I like are being balanced downward by moves I don't like and the whole thing is teetering on a downward angle. I sure hope I'm unnecessarily worried, but...

Exactly, we have a 1st year player that we spent a 4th to acquire that we dumped for a 6th and a retread. Another move that lost value for the team.

Caldwell was fired for mistakes like these.

Baalke/Meyer are just fixing it.

Ok what experience do you have as a coach or player personal guy that would make me consider your position over one of the best college coaches of all time. I don't know why i am even posting a reply to your cry baby rants about UM

Do you ever post anything other than this?

They don't. They just enjoy omplaining.

The fact is that Scott was a bad draft pick by Caldwell. Then these same people complain when Baalke/Meyer get rid of him.

How about you simply consider how many years we've watched this team suck, and how many former Jags have gone on to be contributors on winning teams elsewhere while we plodded along to a losing record in the same season?

If it doesn't make you question moves like Josh Oliver and Josiah Scott, you probably haven't been paying close enough attention.

Ok, you think Meyer will fail. We get that but if you want to be open minded then clearly neither Oliver nor Scott would make the 53 so why not try to get something back? Don't fall for the sunk cost fallacy.

I don't enjoy complaining. I'm sick and [BLEEP] tired of complaining about this team. Are you out of your mind?

I'd love for Urban Meyer to lead us to the promised land.
I want nothing more.
But I also have watched this organization and other teams screw up these types of roster moves for 20-plus years and I'm not going to act like these moves must be just fine because it's a coach that you, personally have placed lots of faith in.

Don't put words in my mouth. I never said that. I'm apparently much more open-minded than you are.

I'm not the one assuming Meyer is making all the right moves. That would be you.

What’s unnerving is the fact the HC and QB are experiencing the same growing pains.
People need to realize it’s going to look like the Gong Show at times.

The only reason that I'll miss Scott is because he was part of the Final Solution -- yes, the tanking solution to obtain the #1 pick.   He should go into the Jaguars Pride of Honor just for that.

I'm not the one assuming Meyer is making all the wrong moves. I'm going to wait and see unlike others who obviously think the franchise will fail no matter what. I'm not Shad Khan and just have live with the management he appointed. If you want to turn around the franchise you too need to accept that fixing mistakes is a big part of that.

I'm also not going to be upset because they're getting rid of camp bodies. Just because Oliver and Scott were drafted too early by another GM doesn't mean that the current leadership need to retain them. We wouldn't get anything at all if we waited until cut day.

Come back if they're getting rid of Norwell or Linder. Then I'd be happy to complain too.

When did I say Meyer is making all the wrong moves? I've questioned 4 moves the whole offseason out of dozens of them.

When did I say I think the franchise will fail no matter what?  I didn't.

Again  - STOP PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH.

You have no [BLEEP] clue if Oliver and Scott were overdrafted or not. They've not played enough meaningful snaps to evaluate.
Blind assumption on your part.

By the way  -  Questioning decisions isn't "complaining." You should learn the difference between the two.

Lol, a 4th round rookie CB who played in what, 5 games? He was drafted to play the slot and Meyer is replacing him with guys who are outside Corners. It seems, again, that Meyer is making moves prematurely based on his "Feels N Friends" philosophy.

The thing is we got a 6th for Scott.  So they can get their guy with upside instead of keeping a guy that likely won't make the roster and we get nothing.  Give me the 6th
We haven’t even made it to training camp and already UM is being written off by some of you. Give this team a freaking shot before we go full meltdown for gods sake! All the consternation over this trade where the dude likely wouldn’t make the team is embarrassing.

Nick Saban failed. Spurrier failed. Bobby Petrino failed. Lou Holtz, Butch Davis, Dennis Erickson, Chip Kelly...the list is long and distinguished of famously successful college coaches who failed in the NFL. That Meyer was successful in the NCAA has no bearing on his success in the pros. You would do well to remember that before you put all your eggs in his basket.

They didn't draft him in the 4th, the round he was picked in is irrelevant and means nothing.  Play on the field is what matters and he hasn't shown anything to make it seem he will be better than anyone else we can get in the 6th next year on top of he isnt what Urban and Cullen wants at corner.

I think we're on the same page.. I gotta give it the wait and see approach. We've taken some unorthodoxed steps so far, but ya never know, we may have needed that approach to be relevant again.. The main thing is, people can pop a vessel in their heads over this or they can blow smoke, and neither of them actually know the end results yet..

Saban left because he didn't get the QB he wanted. Had he got his QB, he likely would have never went to Bama. Most of the guys who failed, failed because they failed to adapt. Kelly and Spurrier failed miserably because they refused to change their college offense to adapt to the pro game. Meyer isn't doing that, he is blending his offense with Bevell's proven NFL offense and he has hired a good blend of college and NFL guys. If Meyer fails, it won't be because he is in over his head.
