No. However, at this point in the season, there should be an identity for this team. You should see young players improving. The scores of the game should be improving. The number of penalties should be lower.
Instead, the team is getting worse. The more fingerprints Urban puts on the team, the worse they get. It's pretty astounding.

So people are supposed to be happy? I don't know why you have this attitude and want everybody to 'calm down'. The people that are 'whining' have a hell of a lot more realistic attitude than you do. The Meyer era has been [BLEEP] show since the beginning.

There's a difference between a fix (quick or not) and going in the wrong direction. This team is still descending and it shouldn't be.

Do you think Khan will eat that contract?
This is the challenge. Rumors are the deal was for 6 years, 10-12M, so is he willing to eat $50-60M if it means he stops the bleeding when it comes to TLaw's development and the team's prospect? How much have we wasted in the past on free agents that stank, inappropriate extensions, and the like? In each circumstance we moved on and ate the loss.
If Khan sees TLaw as a lifer, his motivation has to be his QB's best interest and then his wallet. So the question now becomes, "Is it worth keeping Meyer for another year or more if it ruins the face of your franchise? "

Someone brought up a good point on the radio yesterday: The money Khan stands to lose if he fires Meyer now pales in comparison to the revenue stream he'll create if he cleans house and gets personnel in here who can capitalize on Trevor Lawrence's abilities.

You're right. The expectation was that last year was going to be a clean slate, and we would begin to see those old ways changing. We brought in a flashy new QB, an offensive-minded coach with a legacy of success at the lower level of the game, and a crapton of cap room to begin the build.
Nobody was expecting a miraculous run at the playoffs this year. We expected rough waters early on while the rookie QB acclimated to the NFL, but a slow progress to show that experience, practice and training were helping him to grow into the leader of our offense. We expected to see free agents brought in to build around the QB. We were expecting the historically great coach to appear prepared, to act professionally, and to put his players in best position to succeed. That hasn't happened, you and I both know that. Even Khan said, in the past hiring changes were based solely on wins and losses, but this year is different.
Firing him is not a quick fix either. It submarines the team again, and we'll likely be stuck trying to get something out of miscast draft picks or overpaid FA that may not fit in the next coach's plans. We've been there before. But at this stage, prolonging the inevitable is only going to do more long-term harm to the franchise.
Maybe we should just stop having expectations, or expect failure.

Posted in another thread.
Cullen has done great work moving the team to a 3-4 considering the lack of talent. He has coached well enough considering there is no offensive support and he has to deal with Meyer.
So much of the discontent is a long pattern of driving this franchise into the ground. Be scared when people don't care enough to post, complain or discuss these things.

Nobody said there is a quick fix, but we have to stop the bleeding somehow, before we die a slow death. If we do nothing and stay on this same course, we know it will destroy us.

there is a quick fix from being completely incompetent to actually putting out a team on the field who can compete.

I've seen reports that his base salary is 6.5M with incentives which he's clearly not getting but who knows if it's true as coaches salaries aren't all that public.

And yet another reason why anyone that believes anything Meyer said is a Moron.
No one came to his defense. He also said the situation with Marvin didn't happen and here Marvin is saying a situation did happen and not disproving what the media has said.
Meyer has to go.

If this was a logical world, there would be disincentives as well. Deduct 1M if you win less than 3 games, for example.

I thought this might be the case. The picks were defensive players and Cullen has it working okay. But really at this point he needs to quit.
