that's 8.981 wins, so basically 9 wins. Or 8 and a tie.

Really not that far off for a prediction lol

thank you for the mathings
This looks like a 6-7 win team with lots of young players whose arrow is pointing up. Everything really depends on how TL progresses. My prediction is based off of a 15-20% improvement from TL.

I am predicting a floor of 6 wins, and a ceiling of 9.
2 to 3 as usual
10-7 AFC S Champs baby

was threeve out of reach?

I guess once the new coach irons out the wrinkles, that can be the goal.
this is a 4 to 5 win team thats the celing. no way Jags win more then 5 games.  I wouldn't be surpised if jags ended up only winning 1 or 2 games this season with 1 being in London.

Culture can't change overnight, loseing takes time to get over. Team might be better yes,but still not winners yet.  Your a loseing team until you prove otherwise.

lemme guess, this is based on your assessment of the team following 4 consecutive preseason losses?

Consider just how very miserable this team was last year, and the quality FA signings that team brought in, and they still managed three wins. For us to be even worse is depending on something catastrophic to occur very early in this season, and let's not go down that road unless we have to.

That and his dad's first hand insight.

Honestly wolfie, we could win the SB and you'd still have so much PTSD from the bad years you wouldn't believe it. Which isn't unfair, many of us will have that "waiting for the other shoe to drop #bcjaguars" feeling for a long time after we eventually become good again.
5 wins
my dad has nothing to do with it. He thinks Jags will win 9 games. I saw our starters play, and offensse can't even score a td. you have to get TDS to win games. the offensse was in red zone too at the time.

that was againest the opposeing teams 1,and 2s. our starters couldn't get TDS just FGS,and even then its a struggle. I am still going to go to sports bar, cheer them, and hope the team proves me completly wrong.

I'm baseing it on what i have seen over the years  in regluar season ,and  how first string starters looked.  the defense has potiontial to be good ,and keep team in games if  they stay healthy, problom will be they will get tired  due to offensse not being able to score tds, unless the defense can get one or 2. time will tell.
I'll go 6 wins simply because we're in the AFC South and we also face the NFC East which is also pretty bad.

I think we're going to see Trevor win 2 games alone using his feet .... running for 1st downs like Andrew Luck used to do.

I'll stick with 6 wins as originally predicted but would be leaning more toward 5 if I had to do a +/-  1

NFL stands for Not For Long.  Teams can and do change very fast in the NFL.  Have you forgotten your Jaguars history?  The Jaguars went from 4-12 in 1995 to the AFC Championship Game in 1996.  The Jaguars also went from 3-13 in 2016 to the AFC Championship Game in 2017.  This isn't just the Jaguars.  The Carolina Panthers went to the Super Bowl only two years after being 1-15. If you want recent examples, just look at the last 3 Super Bowl participants.  They included teams that were 4-12 and 4-11-1 in the previous season plus another team with a losing record.

For the record, I'm not saying the Jaguars are going to playoffs, but there's no reason that they can't improve significantly in one year.  Barring major injuries (such as losing Trevor for the year), I would consider 5 wins this season to be the floor.  This team won 3 games last year.  That's only two games improvement.  We spent a record amount in free agency and had excellent draft position.  The 2022 team will have 10 new starters who weren't even on the roster last year.  With the promotion of Cisco, that's 11 new starters.  If you count ETN as a starter, that's 12 new starters.  You then factor in new non-starters that may play a role (Arden Key, etc.).  You then consider the high probability that our rookie quarterback from last year will improve this season.  You then hopefully factor better coaching.  If all of the above doesn't get us at least 2 additional wins this year, I would consider it to be a major failure.
Because the team's depth is so poor, but their starters are mostly competitive, the win total could range from 8 or 9 with few injuries all the way down to 5 if there are lots of injuries.
i got this years first hype video up.

This team is bad until they are not. We need to see some wins and not potential.
Very improved this year but not playoffs.

Playoffs next season with a true playmaking WR on the outside.

Top 3 seed the following year.

....so you think they are a one-win team too?

I don't recall anyone here saying "Playoffs or bust", or denying that we aren't still an incomplete team. We're just nowhere near the doom and gloom that Snowy dropped, unless something dire happens in these first few weeks.
I'm with the average of y'all, we'll go 6-10.

Oh wait, I keep forgetting they added another regular season game. What the hell, I'm feeling tealy. 7-10.
I still think .500 is the ceiling this year but that might win this awful division.
We have so many new pieces it's impossible to predict how well it will blend together (especially on offense) and/or how long it will take for the blend to happen. Im not much for predicting wins or playoffs runs but I see a competitive and upcoming NFL roster starting to form. For the first time in a few years I think we can at least 'enjoy the ride' or a season instead of accepting our fate early on.

First 2 weeks are important - of course. Winnable game @ WAS and division opponent Colts at home where we have had success against them. I really think we could be 2-0 to start to season and I think that is really all Ill look at and focus on until week 3.
