We always play like crap on the west coast. Let us hope that is going to change.

I think they'll play better than we've seen them play on recent west coast visits, but I don't know if they have enough talent to overcome the bolts right now.

It's nice that I feel like they at least have a chance if a few things ago their way and they execute as consistently as they did last week.

Here's hoping
Jags still have a clean injury report so sky's the limit. If they can consistently disrupt Herbert good things can happen for them. If not they will be down early and they probably won't catch up.
I hope the game plan is to establish the run and play good defense.
Jaguars' 0-5 all-time record in road games against the Chargers and their 3-15 record all-time in the Pacific Time Zone. Though their last road win was at the Oakland Raiders.

That’s rough right there. 0-5 @ Chargers. Seems like we have to knock the door down one of these times.

Hmm, maybe first time we have played the Chargers in LA?  I am unsure, but if so that could break the jinx...

we lost there in 2020, so we are 0-1 against the LA Chargers in Kroenkedome. Here's hoping we get back to .500!

Was that there or at the soccer stadium?

Cam and Taylor are going to have their hands full with Bosa and Mack. Allen and Walker will have a tough match up against their LT Rashawn Slater as well. Will be a nice look at how young Walker looks going up against another young, but very good OT in Slater.

Campbell and Griffin will face tough match ups against Keenan Allen (if he plays) and Mike Williams.

Ekeler is always a huge screen threat. He had 9 receptions this past week. Can't let him gash us in the screen game.

It wont be as easy for us to dink and dunk this week, as it was against the colts (due to their Def scheme), but the game plan has to be similar. Gonna have to get the ball out of Trevor's hands fast and not give Bosa/Mack a chance to tee off on our OTs. Hopefully the run blocking will be a little better this week and they can really get JRob and ETN going. That'll be the easiest way to slow down the threat of Bosa/Mack.

I'm more interested in Walker and Allen vs Pipkens and RRH and Key vs Feiler.  Really want to see Lloyd on Ekler and Campbell on Williams as well.  Last week Kirk played against one the league's best nickel corners, this week he goes up against another in Callahan.   I like our run blocking oline against their run defense as well.  I think this week we have our best rushing game yet.

I am worried that Campbell's ball tracking issue could be a problem, and Griffin's general speed and decisiveness could be an issue again as well  - IF they are not being aided by a strong pass rush often enough.

Getting pressure will be key in this one if Herbert and his targets are playing near 100%.

Offensively - as mentioned in my prior post - we HAVE to establish the run to mitigate the pass rush.
The quick hit passes are good too, but will absolutely not be as easy this week.
We don't get to play against a Gus Bradley scheme every week.

Outside of the one TD Campbell gave up week 1 although he was in good position, he has played at a Pro Bowl level imo.  I think Campbell matches up better against the bigger bodied Wrs over the quick shifter ones.  Will be fun to watch Sun to get some of these questions answered

Yeah let’s not forget even the best corners occasionally get beat. Just look at Ramsey.

Actually, I've never played an NFL game on the west coast.

Pro bowl is a popularity contest, so I don't even know what that means. He still has trouble tracking the ball in the air, I can recall at least one play against Indy where this bit him.

IIRC he went down late against the clots, glad that it wasn't anything serious. We need all hands on deck this weekend.

I rewatched the all 22 of the colts game. He is still battling this issue. Trust me.

He isn't yet comfortable locating the ball in the air quickly enough when he has his back turned to the QB in coverage.

Yes, he's playing great. Yes, he has improved. Yes, I have confidence in him in general.

Will the better OC's we face tell their QB to throw it his way if his back is turned?
100%  Yes.
It could still be a problem when he's facing better talent.
What happened in the past will have little to no bearing on who wins Sunday.

I never said he is playing perfect or a finished product.
With that said I like him better against the bigger bodied WRs than the quick shifter ones.  Maybe he gives up a bunch of plays this week, we shall see
