We almost stole one but honestly if we don’t get a defensive TD then we lose that ball game by 15 points.
The Eagles didn’t respect our defense at all. They went for it on 4th down about 4 times and I think they converted on 3
of them, with 1 being a TD.
Speaking of Cisco, he struggled in run support. Olokun and Llyod were all over the Lloyd were all over the field. I think Ol had 3 TFL, but unfortunately they had to account for Hurts in the RPO and the RB gouged us. Hamilton didn’t really make an impact and was double teamed most of the game.
I did see some stunts on the dline that were tried but it was bad timing, because the RPO neutralized our stunts. With only 2 LBs in the middle it made it tough to stop the run game.
The 4th down play where Jones was wide open and Lawrence fumbled the ball with nobody around him, that was a back breaker.
The Eagles scored on a 4th and goal that was another back breaker.
I’m still holding my head high because I know this team can play with anybody. I’d were going to play with the good teams, we gotta stop the RPO stuff. Lamar Jackson, Allen, Hurts, and a couple other guys can put pressure on the defense. Gotta have a 3rd LB out there. Hurts ain’t gonna throw for 400 yards.
Peter king this morning:
.3. I think I was highly impressed with the Jags Sunday. Competitive team, hustle to the ball at all times, good edge presence led by Josh Allen. Trevor Lawrence needs to have a better sense of pressure in the pocket and he must take care of the ball better, obviously. They could use a receiver to take some of the heat off Christian Kirk. But Duval wasn’t built in a day.
I thought Agnew had a good game. He makes a huge impact when he’s involved. That speed is unteachable.
Agnew had 128 total yards and 2 TD. (4 rec 50 yds, 2 tubs)

We lost 5 turnovers and only lost to the hottest team in the league by one score. Another self-inflicted loss like week 1 and correctable mistakes. I'll take that all day over the helpless beatdowns we had the past couple years. We'll be fine, this team is already better right now than anyone expected and they're going to continue to get better as the season goes on.
I still stand by we would have won that game in better weather. It is what it is though.

Doug needs to really really relly work with the team to make sure theres no way jags loose to Texans next sun.
Its a big game, and is a must win division game.
stop looking for coincidences. Or, better said, recognize coincidence as just that.
Look at the team and what we've accomplished before Sunday.
Consider that most Sundays we will not be competing in the remnants of a tropical weather event.
Consider that in spite of numerous crippling mistakes the team was still within reach of a formidable opponent.
Consider that the tinhorns have plenty of problems of their own.
Worry not. Worry won't fix any of the things that concern you. Sit back, enjoy the show, and cheer for the teal tongue. We'll be ok.

Yikes, very Bortles/Gabbert-esque. Not good.
The contrast is that Bortles and gabby looked like that in domes and sunny weather.

Yeah, we lost this one in the trenches, those extended serieses hurt.
No panic here. Conversely, to still be in that game at the end, after 5 turnovers and coming off a game in the west coast amid hurricane warnings in Jacksonville, I'd have to say I was quite surprised it wasn't much worse.
Big game at home vs the Texans this week. Looking forward to Tailgating, bringing my ABV above 2.0 and rooting the Jags on ....

Play of the day, though?
The delayed screen, where he catches the ball, stops in place, and lets Cam catch up and obliterate some DB like a rag doll. You know that made Cam happy! I rewound that one a time or two on the DVR.
The Jags have scored over 20 in every game this season..... They only scored more than 20 5 times all of last year. The trajectory of this team is clearly up.
Burrow had 4 interceptions in week 1 and do you think Bengals fans are throwing hissy fits about the future of Burrow (well maybe)? There are going to be good games and bad games this year but this team is clearly better with a lot of good YOUNG pieces. Arrow up.

For sure. Anyone who expected Trevor to never have another bad day was delusional. As are the "sky is falling" crowd right now. Bad games happen. We're very clearly a much better team than we were in the past. Even if we don't win the division and miss the playoffs, we wont be picking top 5 again

Good post and agree. I remember Brady doing an interview saying close games come down to 4 or 5 get to get it plays. If it goes your way you'll likely win, you don't and your probably losing.
Like you say we had those 4 or 5 plays yesterday but couldn't convert and then Philly did with theirs.

No to mention most good AFC teams are 2-2 or 3-1 so we're right in the mix....if there was a game that we were to lose the NFC game would be the ones to lose....next week is far more important

Agreed, and probably the reason for Zay being inactive this week. I had us 1 and 3 these first 4 games so they are actually ahead of my expectations. We turned over 48% of our roster !! We have a completely new staff that, Yes, is a massive improvement from the previous year. We are on a good path. I hate when we lose, but after the last 10 years I can see this is very different from what we have witnessed before.
That game sucked but we are still night/day from last season. Looking forward to bouncing back against the Texas next week.
When we went up 14-0 I thought we were about to take over the NFL haha.

Truth be told i wasnt as sold on burrow coming out either. In the way that i felt lawrence had the physical tools and maybe didnt have the mental ability to put it together i felt like burrow had the mentality but maybe wasnt quite there physically but i was wrong for sure hes been very good. But no, when he threw 4 picks it def wasnt a good look but hes coming off an unbelievable season where he led his team to the superbowl so no, it didnt make me overreact. It was an outlier for him. The issue with trevor is as of right now bad games are the norm. So yeah, horrendus 5 turnover games do make me worry a bit, the same way that the past 2 good games were a reason to feel better about him. He hasnt cemented the kind of player he is the same way burrow has so until we know exactly what we have bad games are going to leave a bad taste.

That is the worst part about yesterdays game. It felt like we were about to dominate again and then that fumbled killed the momentum and it was like our entire team forgot how to play football.

Good point. There is no 4-0 team in the AFC. Even the best teams are just 1 game ahead. Our losses being out of conference also means that we currently hold the tie breaker advantage over virtually every other team. If the season ended today, we would be the #3 seed in the AFC playoffs. We theoretically could move into the #1 seed as quickly as next week.
