I've given Trevor props when he does well, and criticized him when he does stupid [BLEEP].

But there are a group of people on this board that thinks Trevor does no wrong and they blame everything on play calling, the defense, refs, etc.

I want Trevor to succeed. I want him to be our QB of the future. But I also see all the garbage [BLEEP] that he does.

There is a temptation to defend his mistakes because we do desperately want him to be a true franchise QB. And the idea of a number one pick busting when he was forecast to be a generational talent is almost unthinkable.

What should be obvious is that he's a remarkably talented kid who still has a lot of upside. What should also be obvious is that the transition to the NFL has been rougher than almost everyone predicted. Doesn't mean he can't get there but to your point, we shouldn't overlook his mistakes. Criticism or praise should be earned based on performance not on what we hope should happen.

I've been critical but I think the positive is still mostly outweighing the negative. But he definitely has a lot of room for improvement.

Not a single touch. I don't know what happened during the week for him to get the Urban Meyer treatment, but I think I only seen him on the field maybe 10 times?

I can see us having a game soon where the D start getting 3 and outs, we cut out the stupid mental errors and penalties and absolutely whoop someone.

No what is frustrating me is the lack of a “rising up” from our QB. You were drafted number one overall. Play like it

What I would is there is very long list of QB's drafted in the top 5 who fail because of the situation and team bereft of talent and good coaching so they cannot grow to being an elite QB.

This was a long discuss on this board before the T-Law draft pick.

Just because he was draft No. 1 or even in the top 5 doesn't mean he will be finished project, especially in this era of college and NFL football. For example Tua looked like a bust last year, and this year with a full team around him, he looks like he may turn a corner.

Mahomes and Allen were drafted to Playoff teams. Texans were a fringe division contender when they traded up to get Watson. Lamar fell to a team with talent/coaching.

Burrow is the only real recent exception to this, and their defense has been lucky with unnatural health for 2 seasons and veteran presence, and they have more offensive playmakers than the Jags have had at 1 time since maybe the late 90's squads?

There are so many aspects to any particular play that makes it succeed or not.

On top of all that T-Law is not the backyard scramble QB of the Mahomes/Farve ilk. He is the cerebral Rivers/Ryan/Brees/Peyton type. That takes time to learn and master, and the right pieces around him.

I completely understand the frustration, and it is valid.

The process just takes time. For once the coaching staff seems to be professionals (first time since Del Rio), even if they make mistakes with play calling, rosters, and time management. The roster has some talent, but we all know it needs a lot more.

He can't get any yardage ETN clearly can.... The two running plays he had one was okay... the next one loss of five yards.... ETN had an average of 7 yd a carry who cares about Robinson at that point

Yeah i had to start him with Swift being held out and he killed my fantasy team.

Yes but the Jags' running scheme between the tackles just appears poor. Every time there is running play with J-Rob in there, there is a mass of bodies and not holes in the A or B gaps, and that appears to be where he was expecting holes. I don't know the scheme well enough to know who is making what mistakes, but I don't think it is only him.  Snoop was having similar issues in preseason.

Between him lacking and always moving away from the run game our team loves to do what doesn’t work
In fairness to Robinson. On like, the three times he saw the field today. Lawrence sailed a TD pass over his head. He was open.

That's perfectly put. I think the hype definitely hurt Lawrence as some people expected him to just be elite right away. I think you have to factor in how bad we were and everything with the Jags was last year. None of that really helped him. I do think Mahomes has skewered the expectations of QB's but again he has a great HC, and the best TE in the league and had the fastest WR in the league. They certainly helped him.

I will easily admit Lawrence still has plenty of room to improve with his playing style, the mental side of the game, decision making. Sadly we do have some on here that blame everything bad on Lawrence but i don't have a problem with legitimate concerns. I just think he's just turned 23, has a long career ahead of him and have seen him do enough good/great things that he can reach that level on a consistent basis in the future. But you also need to give him weapons and protection and a HC that gets the best out of him, and that's not just Lawrence, that's true of any QB that's successful.

False. Lawrence threw it his way one time and it was slightly over thrown in the end zone. He didn't receive any carries.

ETN got 14 carries
Zay Jones got 1
Kirk got 1
and Hasty got 1
Lawrence had 4
Also for anyone putting this game on T-Law and Pederson, both of whom made mistakes.

Daniel Jones just threw for 200 yards and ran for 100 yards on this defense. I get there were a some of bad calls and no calls, but still.

No one is blaming this loss on Trevor.
This team breaks a new record every [BLEEP] week and they're never good records to be breaking Wallbash
