The Real MVP

One of these guys should be locked in a padded room.....
The other one is our awesome mascot.

But seriously, that dude should probably get help
I would just like to point out, we finally have a set of receivers who can catch the damn ball. It seems like years since we've had that.

It makes me feel good to know the Jags have a better record than Jalen Ramsey's team. Smile

yes, yes, yes!

No being a downer but we are top tier in drops this year again. If we did have some wr that could catch consistently I think we'd have 2 to 3 more wins

Meh

Your top receivers all have 3 drops or fewer each -  and the primary RB has 4.

It's a 4.6% drop rate overall.
This team put up 18 points in less than 6 minutes to close out the game. That would have been unheard of for this team in past years.

The Ravens also have an issue with not being able to close out games this year.

Last year, there were ten times where the Jaguars didn't score 18 points in the entire game.

This offense is STARKLY different.

If Caldwell can summon the smoke and mirrors to hide his unit's deficiencies Doen the stretch, they may win 4 more.
Realistically, I think the defense will require more help in talent additions and the OL will need at least one more piece to get over the hump of division title challenge territory.

Yup truly a miserable season. Most of those games were over by half time.

Yup the Defense needs a CB2, another iDL and Edge depth. Safety depends on what they do with Jenkins and his contract.

Offense needs LG and maybe RT (although I'm going with Little, gotta give him a chance to see what he can do). A bigger 50/50 ball WR, which Trevor had and loved at Clemson and some TEs. I'd re-sign Engram so we need a TE2. Farrell can step into Manhertz role.

Where do you think they are going on offensive line?  They just signed Robinson and Scherff this year to big contracts and drafted Fortner.  I don't see them moving on from them in 2023.  Do you think they will upgrade left guard or do you think they let Taylor go and upgrade right tackle (leaving Walker Little on the bench)?
Good stuff

The 4th and 8 throw to Zay Jones at the 5:27 mark is so good. These angles show just how pin point accurate that throw was.

The Ravens game might have been on of the most significant games in Jaguars history.

Only if they build on it. Otherwise it’s just another blip in a sea of defeat.

I don’t think they’ll be able to get an upgrade over taylor he’s playing very well for the most part this season. That being said I don’t think they’ll be able to afford to bring him back either, think walker little will be starting rt next season just got to hope he develops, as for left guard they may try and pick some one up in the draft but I don’t expect many free agent moves next off season especially first couple of days. The cap room won’t be there

The way Trevor played in the last 3 games, but especially in the 4th quarter of the Ravens game, and even more especially in the last 2 minutes, cannot be a blip.  That's too many great throws in a row to be anything other than reality.  And it answered the biggest question we had coming into the season- do we have a franchise QB.  Emphatically, yes.

Short term, we will probably both win and lose because we still have weaknesses but long term, my optimism is to the moon.

First thing I'd do is figure our right tackle.  A deal with Taylor or determining if Little is ready are the obvious options - FA spending is not the way to go so only other option is an early pick in the draft.

I think the best course is to go with Little plus a mid round pick as insurance/competition/depth.

I'd spend yet another pick on a guard with versatility to play center so you can have competition at LG and a backup for Scherff in case of injury.
This gives you a contingency if Fortner doesn't develop in protection.
If they don't pay Taylor - maybe this player is a vet FA instead of a pick.

Maybe.

I just know it was the most exciting game since the Jags playoff win at Pitt with BORTLES. (Phone still autocorrect BORTLES to all caps).

There have been wins since that playoff game but this one was by far my favorite since and it’s not particularly close.

We tend to have fun games against Baltimore now that I think about it, remember the london game where Bortles had 4 TDs and Flacco had negative yards in the first half.

Hell, do you remember the MNF game where Baltimore had negative yards in the first half and we beat them with Gabbert lol. I bet Ravens fans hate us lol
I have good seats in 105, but was gifted great seats for this game in the friendzone right up on the railing in the south end zone pretty much under the crossbar. Although you can see the field better from 105 and elsewhere in the stadium, what a great experience and what a game for it! Could tell Tucker’s kick wasn’t gonna make it almost right away.
