Why? Did you see Dallas? I think that a big mistake for Kaep was not making his own thing and Disavowing BLM. BLM as an organization has openly called for and GOTTEN the death of police officers in execution style killings. I wouldn't want to watch someone protesting in support of that group either. He has the right to protest (as long as his behavior isn't specifically sanctioned by the CBA and the disciplinary powers of Rodger Goodell because Collectively bargained agreements can be extra-constitutional) and they have a right to say keep your per diem.

i think part of being a cop is the willingness to serve even for those who hate you. just my opinion. im not a cop, but im pretty sure there are plenty of other cops out there willing to work this game.

The best I can tell, this is an off-duty gig for earning extra money based on
this article. It's pretty common for police officers to do this at different events. Should something requiring law enforcement happen, then police officers on duty would respond, but not "hang out and provide security".

See my post above. Officers working at the stadium providing security are not "on duty" and are not being paid by the city, they would be paid by the team/stadium. It's common and acceptable for police to do this in a variety of situations.

So they aren't refusing to do their duty to protect and serve, they just aren't signing up to work there when they are off duty.
