If not, then we should probably play the Texans game knowing we have to beat the tacks anyway.

Yes, there is a way.
There's also a way I could win the lottery this weekend and the odds aren't that different.

I'm afraid they have to play both games full bore to be certain though.

Yep, did a little research.  Winning this week combined with a week 18 loss to the tacks puts us back in a 6-way wild card race.  Depending on what happens with the Pats/Dolphins game, it may be a 5-way race.

I'm not saying play to lose against the Texans.  I'm on the record as always playing to win regardless of draft position, having unacceptable management or coaches I'd rather see fired, or if I'm going against our team in FF.  However, if we are going to win one game, the safe one to go for is the Tacks.  Which probably means Beathard after halftime.

Between the audio cutouts, etc. Not sure if it's just our games but some of them have been frustrating to watch at times. ESPN is also annoying now on MNF. Is it just me, or, does Steve Young look very, very aged for 61? I hope he's ok health wise. He just seems older than I remembered.

TNF is also hit or miss for me broadcasting wise. Sometimes I like Michaels with the college dude and sometimes I don't. I don't really watch CBS halftime or pregame shows anymore. Same for FOX. I know Marino had that little love child fling that cost him his role on CBS but I really liked him on that panel over the years. Way more than Phil and Boomer trying to exchange jabs.

SNF is just... poop for me. Don't care for Collinsworth. Don't care for Tirico. Broadcasting just isn't the same anymore. Nantz and Romo are good. I'll give them that. Maybe Brady can salvage some hope when he retires.

Yea I agree about Steve Young.  It looks like he aged 10 years in just 1 year.

We need to keep this momentum going. Put your foot down on the Texans throat and then put the finishing move on the Titans. Establish dominance in the AFC south!

It's simple, Dolphins have to lose out, Jets lose wk17, Pats lose wk18 (they each play the Dolphins so they have to win that and lose the other game), and the Steelers need to lose 1 game.

The rest of the games don't matter and there is only 1 other team the Titans who can make it if they win this week and tie the Jags along with everything above.

Those are the teams still available unless there is some crazy tie scenarios.

Welp so far every game i've predicted to be a loss, we turned up and won so let's keep the tradition alive.

Tinhorns - 35
Jax - 7

Wow. The tinhorns brought some fire power in your prediction.

That's a good point.

I think that Doug likely starts everyone who is close enough to 100% to contribute because of the wildcard long-shot, but Scherff would be a good indicator since he's been banged up.

Hopefully we go up by 3 scores and start pulling starters halfway through the 3rd Q.

this right here! I kinda don't want Trevor in there behind a patchwork line if we are sitting Scherff.

ugh

I swear - if this team really is on its way to dominating the division and upsetting NFC teams on the road regularly, one of the best things to come out of it is not getting stuck with the D-List broadcast.

....just no Romo, k?

Steve Young had a stoke a few years ago. He hasn't been or looked the same since.

oh my...
Tie 23-23

Whilst I dislike the Tinhorns, I hate with the burning fury of a million sun's those stinkin T*tans.

I can't wait for Week 18 and stamping on their damn throats, ending their playoff hopes and taking back the South but Week 17 is the priority.

Like NYC says, play the starters, get a big lead then let the #2's play. We've got the big mo, no need to out-think ourselves.

Both are on my fecal roster!
But the stinkin' tacks have been there longer.

We’re about to be a power house team for a long time bc we have an elite player at QB.
Tua wont play this week.

Very possible they lose the last 2 games of the year.

Good

"There's never a meaningless game," Pederson said. "Never, ever, ever, ever. You play to win every game. The only way I rest players is if they're hurt and can't go."

Would be interesting to see a poll on who each team’s most hated rival in the division is.  I know ours is the tacks.

Good

Damn straight Doug
Longsnapper missed practice today - so they added one to PS in case he can't go

Only reserve DL left called up since Smoot is out and Walker is questionable

Yea they worked out 3 long snappers yesterday.
This game is going to be a fought hard by the Texans. Anything less than 100% and we will lose. They have beaten us 9 times in a row. Have to be on our game.

As a fan that came on board after 1999, I hate the tinhorns more than most people here.  It always seems it's the tinhorns that have knocked us out of the playoffs. Since about 2004.

One of my first experiences was watching the tinhorns take out the jaguars on December 26th that resulted in us missing the playoffs.  I was at that game, and let me tell you, it was on of the most miserable days ever.  And I wasn't even a die hard fan then.

I'd prefer we beat the snot out of the that team.  But I'd rather be healthy and make the playoffs more.  If that means Sherff needs to sit and get healthy along with some of our other major players, I'm OK with that.

Hell, we may still beat their [BLEEP] at only 75%.  But the division isn't won next week.  We need to be as right as we possibly can be for week 18.  That's the bottom line.

I was there too.  Only time I ever convinced my mother to go to a game.  Soooo cold.  Which would have been fine, if there were any signs of life from the offense that day.  Such an ugly, miserable, afternoon. Only 20,000 fans dumb enough to show up.  To this day it was mom's only NFL game.

Yea the tinhorns are going to show up. They've been playing hard this past month. In all honesty, they probably should have beat both the Cowboys and Chiefs. They could have been on a 3 game win streak leading into this weekends game.
Looks like Henry ruled out for Cowboy this week. A precautionary move before week 18 game due to injury or resting him?
