For a young team

This playoff experience is invaluable

I hate to say it, but I do think the refs will be a factor in this game. I think the Jags will have to overcome at least a 10 point ref bias to win.
50-3 chiefs

Haha. Good point. I really hope the refs stay out of this.
38-17 Chiefs

I don't think we protect Trevor well enough and I don't think we cover Kelce or McKinnon well enough. Also, lack of pass rush. I just don't know if we want it bad enough.
Head says Chiefs will win, heart says have you not learnt yet not to write this team off?

Jags 27
Chiefs 24

We do to the Chiefs what we did to Pittsburgh in 2017.
I lived through the Patriots killing us in 2008 and then again in 2018. You let HOF QBs have time, they will pick you apart piece by piece. And then in the 4th quarter, they will tear out your heart and shove it down your own throat forcing you to chew and swallow every beating tissue.

I've rather have our D force Mahomes into unconfortable situations. Blitz early, blitz often. Make him make fast reads or run with his legs. There's nothing worse that watching a great QB have all the time in the world and just methodically walk his team down the field over and over again.

Let Cisco roam the center of the field, and then blitz from all angles... Have 1 LB spy and zone read off 3-4 lineups. Or go nickel D and have a CB spy. Switch it up. But it should be constantly showing blitz on every passing down.

Go down fighting. Make him prove he can play a perfect game under pressure
Mahomes. Is. The best. Against. The blitz.

I don’t know why posters keep saying blitz him in hopes of pressuring him into a bad decision.

He’s proved time and again it doesn’t happen. He wants to improvise, to scramble: it’s when he’s rushed with four and coverage is tight he makes a mistake if at all.

Mahomes has a 116 passer rating vs the blitz. The best in the NFL.

Bad idea.

Contain.

Good god. It's like you haven't watched Mahomes play at all.

He's just been lucky and is due for a bad game against the blitz  Ninja
I would still blitz at times, it just wouldn’t be the focus of the defensive game plan. I think KC will have success against our secondary, but I don’t think it will be to the degree they did in week 10. Guys were running wide open in big holes in our zone coverage because Mahomes was holding guys in the wrong place with his eyes. Cisco figured this out and started anticipating and breaking toward the ball early and as a result lit JuJu and MVS up. Will need to be better as a unit at anticipating and also doing what you can to confuse Mahomes at key moments. Gonna need some gotcha plays on D if that’s possible against Mahomes.

To be fair hes the best against pretty much any coverage. He is the most talented qb in nfl history and likely will be in the goat conversation one day. What we call defensively wont matter, we just need 110% effort on execution.

This will never happen.  He will need about 5 more SB's to even be considered. I think he will win a few more but i dont see him winning 5 or 6 more.  Kelce is 33 as well

You do realize that if we beat kc saturday, it will be the first time in mahomes career as a starter that he misses the afc title game? Think about it. Hes been in the title game every single year since we lost to new england. And to me, i dont need an abundance of rings to validate talent. A superbowl win is a team victory. This guy is gifted past anything we have seen in the nfl at the position barring injury or early retirement he will likely take just about every passing record in record time.

While true, it’s also any given Sunday (or Saturday). When our offense is clicking, we can be tough as well. Trevor is just getting started. Do I expect to win? Not necessarily. But do I think we can? Yea.

Not everyone is going to have Brady's longevity.  Anyone who puts together 3 super bowl wins in 4 years, or 4 super bowl wins in 7 years, could be in that conversation.

The metric you shifted to will never be surpassed by anyone beyond Brady either.  14 out of 22 seasons (I believe) he was in a conference championship game.  Insane.  Far greater likelihood that Mahomes has a great career but flames out long before Brady has.

There appears at the moment to be a bunch of young talented QBs in the AFC.  Going to be that much more difficult to dominate if that holds true for an extended period.
We have literally got to go into this game letting it all hang out. Keep things in front of us on defense, make them go the length of the field every time, when we get the ball, we need a better run/pass percentage, which I think we can get, but we need to play like we're going to take no prisoners Saturday afternoon. We have everyone against us, the refs, the know it alls, etc., don't give us a chance, but we're going to show them in 2 days time.
