I gotta admit, I admire your ability to make so much money while being terrible at your job.

He is laughing at you all the way to the bank.

Omameh would be out the door before they even consider Wells.

Well Wells is still injured. They could IR/Waive Wells.

Quote:Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I read somewhere that the new IR rules state that you don't have to designate a person "to return," but rather, down the road, when it's time, you can decide on one player to return. Is this correct?
Precisely. As long as a player has been on IR for six regular season weeks, and you've not returned any other player, the player can be returned.

Quote:LOL! They aren't even confident enough yet in that 6th rounder to even give him any 2nd string snaps in the preseason much less give him the full responsibility to be the #2 in real games.
Okay... but where does this confidence in Henne come from?

The IR list is certainly a possibility I hadn't considered for him.

Quote:What is Bennett's?
I thought James Sample was on IR too.
Bennett had a "calf injury" in the Falcons game, whatever that's supposed to mean. I'm guessing a bruise.
Regarding Sample, I think you've finally done it. That is, you've stumped me. Sample was reported placed on IR according to an article during the cutdown to 75, however, he's not on the official IR list and the Jaguars transactions lists him as having been waived. Was Caldwell trying to put him on IR, but the NFL denied the move so they had to waive him? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Considering the progress Blake Bortles has made, being that Chad Henne is an NFL caliber backup QB, IMO it would have been a mistake to get rid of him. Henne's value to the Jaguars FAR exceeds what he can provide on the field. Being that the Jaguars salary cap situation was the best in the NFL this winter, they had the luxury of retaining Henne at a high price for a # 2 QB.

Quote:I'm wondering if Henne would be gone if his $4 mil wasn't guaranteed.
We probably will never know the answer but my guess is Chad Henne would still be on the Jaguars roster even if he wasn't guaranteed any money.

Im sure it was just an error. Just like how they still have Colvin listed on the active roster and he was placed on the NFL reserved/suspended list today.

I hope you are correct and the promising young S with an outstanding height-speed ratio is on IR, but it appears the error was in reporting Sample on IR considering the Jaguars transactions list agrees with the roster that he was waived.

Refer to the NFL ***official*** transactions report:

I mean, I know they take precautions, but a bruise isn't going to require crutches.

Allen may be heir apparent, but it's not happening this year.

Hmm... This is promising. So, according to nfl.com, the Jaguars IR List looks like...
Michael Bennett
Jeffrey Linkenback
James Sample
Tony Washington
Earl Wolff

There is no guarantee that Allen amounts to anything.
To put things in perspective, Henne was considered a much better prospect coming out of college than Allen.
