If he earns more playing time so be it.  I don’t care - the best players need to play.
I’m convinced this was a need pick where they perceive a need for a physical RB that can help with short yardage situations.
I don’t need Stacey Mack splitting carries with Fred Taylor.

This isn’t a Fred/MJD combo.

It’s more like Fred and Stacey Mack.  It shouldn’t even be considered a tandem.  Of course I hope he proves me wrong but to me it’s pretty clear that Etienne is head and shoulders better than Bigsby.

Bigsby is an ETN clone and here to share the role. If your concern is about value it should be that you could get an ETN in the 3rd and we gave up a 1 for him.
I’m not seeing the concern. I think Bigsby is going to make some big time plays for this franchise.
I’m questioning that Bigsby should automatically be the number 2.
How much better is he than D’Ernest Johnson?

He’s a different style - but if that style is running into the back of your own blockers then I’m fine not having a different style.

He’s nothing like Etienne
Bigsby had like 5 carries and a TD and dude is having issues with him being the RB2 in his first game ever.
7 carries for 13 yards - made one carry count for a TD
1 pass target that he tipped into an INT

Nothing to get too upset about at the end of the day
The poor awareness on the recovery that was stripped will be a welcome to the NFL moment for him to learn from

I still like his potential as a spell back to ETN with just a little more thump than his counterpart
The offensive line play needs to improve. Etienne had 18 carries for 70 some odd yards and outside of the TD run he created really on his own by waiting and bouncing outside, he had a hard day earning his yards.

NYC was spot on last year about the line. They [BLEEP] suck already in week one. We'll get a lot of easy, quick plays because of the scheme and Lawrence but the run game is going to struggle and the long developing plays will be very limited unless Lawrence bails from the pocket.

We'll be lucky to win the division with this line.

Wonder once Cam returns if that can improve our total package. Cam at LG?

Little to LG. Robinson back at LT. Little has 3 games to improve. Maybe 4. He was getting bulled back at times today as well.

I know some will get on here talking about Fortner, but I laid out all the proof in the pic thread.

Scherff and Bartch need to eat a snickers.

Little played good, Harrison played elite. Fortner played solid. Bartch can’t get to the 2nd level, and Scherff is still in training camp or something.

Probably Cam at LT and Little at LG since they worked lots of reps that way in camp to feel it out.

Anything but Bartch at LG sounds good right about now.

Unfortunately - I don't think we have an answer at Center unless Fortner somehow develops in front of our eyes as the season wears on. (Shatley is rapidly declining IMO)

RG is also a concern with Scherff already banged up and not looking good prior to the injury anyway.

I've definitely seen a number of offensive lines catch their stride and gel as a unit by midseason before, so I'll hold out a little hope, but these guys have a mountain to climb after that start.
The run be made near the goal line where he pushed through and the entire pile moved was crucial. #4
Fortner is a Luke Bowanko-esque player.
Just because someone starts as a rookie doesn’t mean they will develop into a better player. We need to upgrade LG,C, RG. I think this will be Scherff’s last season here unless he takes a huge pay cut.

You mean when Strange pulled him to the goal line? That play was awesome. Then Fortner and Harrison got in on it and the pile started moving more.

Thanks for the input, we've been lacking posts from the visually disabled around here.

Bigsby will be an asset for this team.

Yes, I was watching the game with a group of friends, and we all went crazy on this.
(09-10-2023, 02:01 PM)SuperJville Wrote: [ -> ]Why did the Jaguars draft a RB in the third round and essentially gift Tank a splitting of duties?

I feel like it’s undeserved.

He was a third rounder for a reason and was not and is not an elite prospect.

Etienne is superior in every way.  He should be getting at least 3 touches to every 1 touch Tank gets IMO.

does anyone else feel that way?
Dude you cant give ETN 25 carries every game. You would greatly shorten his career. We needed someone reliable outside of ETN to help carry the load. Bigsby had some key plays in winning today BTW

What Strange did on the play should be illegal.  Don't get me wrong, I'll take it since it benefitted us and isn't currently illegal apparently, but it should be.  Strange was the ball carrier carrier on that play.
