There won't be a mass deportation but rather a tightening of the borders.

What we should be restricting is the H1B1 Visas in which people are coming in from India & China taking our preferred IT and other technology jobs.  That's becoming a major issue with our younger generation, with all the profits going to the corporations that hire them.

Regarding inflation related to groceries, one needs to look no further than the Publix financial statements to see they are not simply passing on increased costs but rather keeping prices inflated while their costs have gone down.   Corporate Greed at its finest.

Updated:  Also, in the event there would be a mass deportation, the Gov would bail out the farmers as we already subsidize farmers $30 billion per year.   Simply increase our Deficit because when it comes down to it, nobody really cares about the Deficit as we live in a society that wants what's best for now.    I'm not being sarcastic but would people rather pay $1 less for their romaine lettuce or know the Deficit is being reduced by that $1 ?

Hello? The cap on H1B's is 60,000 per year. That's 0.04% of the workforce. Tech has used H1B's for decades. It's not a problem.

As to corporate profits and inflation, there is a minor issue here -- namely that profit margins soared after the 2008 recession; margins were much lower before then. They did go up after 2020, but probably not as much as you'd think. I.e. figuring out how much of inflation is due to corporate profit-taking would require a bit of work to suss out.
