Quote:I have been as impressed by Dante this spring as anyone, but lets be honest...the two main outside rushes y'all have been raving about have not been bends or even dips, they're some weird ducking thing. In fact, after his duck thing that worked well in the scrimmage he did have to bend to get to Bortles and he came out from under his feet and fell down. If he could bend anything close to the guys you've been comparing him to in this thread he would have had an easy sack.

He's showing exactly what he showed at UF, save for those two weird ducks. He has good hands and power for the bull rush, he has good inside counter moves with the swim and with the spin, and he has an excellent motor. He still hasn't shown an ability to get to the QB on an actual outside rush except for those ducks. Are we assuming that that an unprecedented move like that is going to keep working? If so then he could be a terrifying pass rusher that is racking up double digit sacks a year. If not then he is going to be what I have said, which is a good all around player who gets plenty of disruption and pressures while being stout against the run, but ultimately stuck in the ~8 sack range annually.

go home you're drunk.

you don't know what you're talking about.  Like seriously, you don't.  You come off as the most arrogant poster in the world.

Jeff Lageman, who has a radio show here, as well as Tony Boselli - talked for a long time about Dante on their show Thursday night.  They raved about his natural ability to bend.

Lageman even defined what "bending" actually is - and I would love to hear what you think bending is, and what coaches look for when it comes to that.  Either way, Dante definitely has it - and they both agreed that he looks like an absolute stud.

Sorry you look like a bigger and bigger idiot the more we find out about Dante.

He's still depressed that we didn't draft Teddy.. I'm sure he blogged about it somewhere..

This is just you copying the opinion of Justis Mosqueda (force players guy) that you reference quite a lot in almost everything.

Get some original thoughts.

Justis was hardly the only person pointing out that those ducks aren't bends...and they're right.

If you want to see some bend, watch Yannick.

Quote:I guess we can never be happy on here. Fowler does great in the scrimmage but some have to shoot him back down with college talk.

Nole fan who is estatic that Fowler is a Jaguar. I think those college allegiances for some are hard to shake. Whatever, he's a Jag now and I couldn't be happier!

No but he is the guy whos opinion you take as your own the most and that is exactly what you have done this time.

Oh yeah here is your messiah again.

shocker.  the wannabe talent evaluators, who said Dante could not bend leading up to the draft, are saying those aren't technically bends but rather "ducks."

those guys still feel but hurt that the guys with the real jobs in the NFL deemed him the best of the bunch and made him a top 5 pick.  Now that he is recovered from his injury, all the pros are saying he looks like a beast out there.

Funny cause other people say I take Matt Miller, or Josh Norris, or PFFs word as gospel. Y'all need to make your mind up. I'm not sure but maybe, just maybe, someone can take their own views and opinions and combine it with multiple other good resources to come up with a more complete picture.
We need a spider chart

Caught out matey.
Y'all are this mad this fast because I said Dante's floor is a good all around player who causes plenty of disruption and pressures while being stout against the run, but maybe with only ~8 sacks a year?

Nah I want more than 8 sacks a year. I'm thinking he averages around 12 in his prime. Sue me.

nobody is mad, don't flatter yourself.

we are calling you on your BEE-S.

I said that was a possibility too, if this weird duck thing he does works consistently. If it's like a pitcher with a weird delivery in baseball that has good early success, but flames out once the scouting reports come out, then he at least has that very solid floor that I said. Maybe Dante's 'stuff' is so dominant that he'll wind up being Chris Sale that makes it work despite wonky mechanics.

We'll find out soon enough, because OTs will likely adjust if his only outside move is whatever that thing is once they start studying him.

That "weird duck thing" is bending dude..

He has an arsenal of moves. Freakish strength already throwing Parnell like a rag doll.

Teams will try and slow him down with RBs chipping him and double teams.

I hate to see you angry then, if calling someone drunk, arrogant, and an idiot just cause they say something you don't agree with is.

No it's not. Bending is using ankle flexion, the part after the duck where he had to 'bend' the corner without losing momentum to get to the QB. Unfortunately he fell down because he doesn't have the ankle flexion required to transfer momentum direction that sharply. That's why in college, if he didn't do an inside counter move, he was fairly harmlessly pushed upfield on outside rushes.

just want to remind everyone that this is from 1 single practice where they focused on 1-on-1's...

yeah, not a Sparq athlete, or a force athlete, and remember KyJaggy's "he can't change direction quickly as evidenced by his 3 cone drill".... watch how he made Mr. Parnell sit on his [BLEEP] because of his change of direction ability.

Quote:Dante was a project - a very talented project though.

You don't draft a project at #3 overall.
