Hard to say what really happened, details provided are a little murky
This story feels a little watered down.

The Sheriff agrees, and they're investigating the handling of the situation.  The story has certain elements that are certainly a bit off.  The report indicated a DUI screen was done, and that there was no concern about Robinson being impaired, but isn't fatigue considered impaired?

You don't want a player getting into legal hot water, but if he did something that warranted charges, and the cop let it slide for whatever reason, that's not good.

I'm willing to give Robinson the benefit of the doubt here that he wasn't drunk or chemically impaired, and that it really was a fatigue thing.  I think, at a minimum,  the incident on its own warrants a drug test mandated by the league.
I still hope we plan on "retaining" him

Your willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but still drug test him. That is the opposite of benefit of the doubt IMO.

I'm willing to trust the officers that responded to the scene and the fact that the Sheriff is not is a very damning insinuation that he himself does not trust his officers IMO. A much deeper problem than someone falling asleep at the wheel.

I believe it's possible with the vehicle partly submerged exhaust fumes could have been pressured into the vehicle if the exhaust pipes were blocked by water as they waited for a tow inside the car with the a/c on. They both could have been poisoned by carbon monoxide explaining their deep sleep.

Yes, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't chemically impaired.  That doesn't mean that I don't feel he should be tested by the league just to confirm that he's at least not violating any league substance policies.

I don't distrust the officers who responded.  But, there is certainly enough questions there to warrant further review to make sure nobody turned a blind eye because it was a Jaguar player.  I don't anticipate that is the case, but with the way the local media has tried to spin this into a bigger story than it probably; is, due diligence is absolutely required in order to assure that nobody cut any corners on this.

There are certainly a multitude of scenarios to explain why Robinson and passenger appeared to be asleep including the potential for carbon monoxide poisoning.  That doesn't necessarily explain how the car ended up in the water to begin with.

Leaves a lot to ponder.
Somebody always wants to make waves.
I think they have to go a little deeper.

It sounds like the sheriff intends to wade a little deeper into the situation.

If Denard is charged we can expect to see a big splash in the headlines.

I have a sinking feeling there is more to the story
I hope this doesn't drag Shoelace under.

There are red-light cameras at that intersection.  The sheriff may already know something we don't.
Im not gonna sleep on this story...
I'm sure some new details will surface soon.

Some of the facts must have been submerged.
Hoping this doesn't reduce his window of opportunity to stay on the roster

Even if he's cut, someone will open a door for him.

One point in his favor: he gets along swimmingly with his teammates.
Young kids make mistakes...he's still wet behind the ears.
