His girlfriend asked him to sell her car.  When he drove into the pond he was just trying to liquidate the asset.

Apparently the police are re-reviewing the matter. My guess is it will all be water under the bridge before long.

I still can't fathom it.

The report made no mention of alcohol or drugs, and none were found with them, so I'm doubting the league go there. As I understand it, the tests only become mandatory after a player is placed in stage one of the program, but there needs to be an alcohol or drug related incident to put a player in stage one (failing a random drug test counts as an incident). Failing a test while in stage one is what results in the four-game suspension, which is most likely what happened with Colvin.

If they didn't test him within four days of the crash he's clean of wut made him sleep already so he might get lucky on shotty police work

Im all for giving the benefit of the doubt to, but at some point there is a tad too much doubt. Unless they were both awake for 48 hours, I find it near impossible to believe that they drove into a pond and didn't notice nor care. Not to mention the whole not giving a crap and still not caring when he cop got there. All because they missed their bedtime?

 

Even if their story is 100% correct, they were both still high on stupidity that night.

Denard is out driving in his girlfriend's car, but with some other girl, around 4 am, and the two of them somehow end up "passed out cold." Denard fell asleep while driving and ultimately crashed the car into a pond after narrowly avoiding a head-on collision. Still, the cop at the scene said Denard did not look impaired and that he did not feel the need to do a sobriety test. 

Makes me think they were on some prescription drugs.

Hoping it was just ambien or something similar.  Much stranger reports of one car accidents out there when people take ambien after drinking. 

 

I personally think D-Rob was probably giving his side-dish a ride home after a late night hanging at his or someone else's home.  Probably over indulged in <i>something. </i> But - it's all just blind speculation at this point and it seems he'll probably get off with a slap on the wrist.  Doesn't really bother me. No one was hurt besides his girlfriend's feelings and he probably got scared straight a little bit by the episode.
