In other news, my guess of ARob's deal: 4 years 62mil 30 guaranteed?
i have to disagree with you his numbers are going to be on the top players in the game 5 years 75 million with 48 guaranteed.
I know most people are familiar with Allen's story, but I always find it moving. I was actually sitting directly in front of his family when he went down with a head injury against San Diego. His mother was understandably terrified and her reaction will stay with me for the rest of my life.
It is easy to lose to sight of the human element it this game, but I couldn't be happier that such a good young man's hard work has paid off. So very few of them make it this far.

It's more than I thought it would be, but I love it.
Good move, Dave!!
Hmm pay 10m a year to a player like Hurns, or a player like Jerry Porter?
Hurns has earned this one, and he's a top 100 player in the league.
Congrats Hurn! Well deserve...

Incorrectly. He was measured at 6'1" at the combine. Doesn't make a difference.
I remember the double move he put on the safety against the Eagles in his first game.
That was one of the sickest moves I've ever seen.

If he continues to produce and improve, that seems about right.

It doesn't make a difference, but maybe the Jags are using his new hair style to goose his height? He had a pretty clean cut at the combine. Now he's got this Cameo thing going on. That's gotta be good for another 2".

Egads! If I hear another Ketchmanite repeat his mantra of receivers being a dime a dozen in light of the decade we've gone without having anyone of worth at the position...I'll scream.
I didn't know how to put in my statement that we found him. We didn't draft Hurns but we kind of did but not really lol. Obviously J Smooth but as far as us acquiring a rookie player some way and developing him into that player that should get paid that level of money.

To me that's a distinction with no real difference for the purposes of this discussion. Bottom line is he is a Jaguar for the last two years and the next four, and I am quite happy with that result.

Wish you would take a permanent vacation from these boards.

I bet he leads a very unsatisfying life too. I mean can anyone be that damn miserable?

He's not being miserable. He's just not very smart.

Right, because someone with his work ethic and drive to improve is suddenly going to shut it down. Brilliant.
Sometimes I question the utter lack of logic some people stumble on to this board with.

There have been players who have gotten the big money contract and shut it down.
I don't think that's the case here for two reasons:
1. Based upon what everyone has said about Hurns, he is universally lauded in the Jaguars organization for his toughness and work ethic.
2. He is still young enough to where if he continues to excel, he would be in line for another contract down the road. In other words, if he is money motivated, there is still ample incentive for him NOT to shut it down now. He is 24 now. By the end of this extension, he'll be 28 or 29. If he renegotiates with a year left on his extension, he'll be 27 or 28. He could get another big money deal at that age.
