He's locked up for the next 5 years at 8 million a year. Plus the production received over the last two years in a season where we already had 54 million in cap to front load the deal.

I reckon he is actually going to be earning 6 a year after this season. Excellent deal for both parties, win-win.

Couldn't have been happier for another player, he has tremendous attitude and I hope he continues to play above his pay grade.
Quote:Listed as 6'3" 205# on the team website.

Measured at 6'1" at the combine where they actually objectively measure everyone
I love that we rewarded his dedication and toughness.

Also knowing that he'll be in teal for the foreseeable future makes buying his jersey much more viable but that brings up a "problem" I've been struggling with: after the significant infusion of playmakers the last few seasons, it's becoming VERY difficult to decide whose jersey to snag for those of us with limited funds.

ARob? Gipson? Bortles? Linder? Fowler? Hurns? Jackson? Thomas? Ramsey? Telvin? Yeldon? Jack? So many options!

Heck I might just get a Caldwell jersey.
Great post, RedRooster.

I was thinking the same things.

Before, there was little point buying a jersey because none of the players were worth it.

Now, there are so many from which to choose.

I'd much rather have the latter "problem" than the former.

Great to have him signed up.

I'm so excited for this coming season!

My policy is generally 5 years on the team before jersey acquisition. Tends to weed out the Mike Walker/Thomas's of the world. With Hurns and Robinson, I think your pretty safe tho.

That's insane that the team would list him 2" taller. Maybe it's the hair.

So, this site has Hurns at 6-3, 205, and I see that his old bio from the Miami Hurricanes has him at 6-3, 195. But indeed, at the combine he measured in at a mere 6' 1 1/4", 198. How does such a discrepancy occur? There's no way he's gained 1 1/2" since he's been here.

Ivory went 78th in the top 100, so you might consider him... or Colvin who they keep saying is the most impressive CB in camp. Then again, with so much talent surrounding him, Miller just might be in for a breakout season.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

In May 2014, #Jaguars WR Allen Hurns was undrafted and signed three-year deal that included $20,000 guaranteed. Now this.

From $20,000 guaranteed to $20 million, not too shabby.

Off the top of my head,  I'm not aware of a former UDRFA ending up with as lucrative as a contract that Allen Hurns did.
Hurray for Hurns! He has performed really well.

Well for that matter he lost 1 1/2" then gained it back lol
Hope that he can do well when it comes down to the field. Congrats to him.

That happens all the time. The official team websites are often wrong especially when it comes to height.

The only thing to go by is the combine because that is precisely what the combine is for.

He's 6'1" not 6'3.... Hell, even Allen Robinson isn't 6'3"
Lest we forget- Jerry Sullivan.

If you go to the minicamp, watch him working with the receivers. It's interesting.

Probably Romo

Absolutely.   I totally forgot about him.

The $ 55 million guaranteed by itself is a number that might not be topped by a non QB UDRFA for many, many years to come:

Jason Peters has that tidy contract averaging 10 mil a year too. Hard work and effort CAN pay off.

Indeed, regarding hard work and effort.   Jason Peters became the model for TE to Offensive Tackle position change.   To the point that the then St. Louis Rams thought Jason Smith would follow Peters path and then spent pick # 2 in 2009 on him.   The end result is it didn't turn out the way they hoped.

Though Peters probably has the high water mark for $ per season for non QB UDRFAs,  Allen Hurns exceeded Peters'  $15,750,000 guaranteed, money:

Cameron Wake was undrafted and has something like 20 millions guaranteed.

Not close to Romo, but still.

Good example. He still had a decent body of work in the CFL too. Brent Grimes(and his crazy wife) signed for 15 mil guaranteed in 2014.
