Quote:To be fair, we didn't have Malik last season. There's more of a logjam at DT/LDE now.
To be fair the anti Williams crew was pointing to Odrick and Marks as the reason not to take Williams.

Quote:he would also fit the mold with what Caldwell said that "we are going to get a solid player, may not be a household name but we'll get a good player at 5"
Quote:Anybody know who TMD is touting on Twitter or wherever he is?
Quote:He's currently losing his mind over josh norman not being a jaguar yet.
Quote:What makes the biggest improvement to our team? Drafting Buckner and having Odrick be a rotational guy or drafting Jack and have him play LB/SS? IMO it's the latter and I'd think Caldwell would feel the same based on him being a needs drafter. Jack fills a way bigger need.
Quote:Haha yeah. Mike Kaye tweeted at him, so I unblocked him for a second just to see the rants. Hilarious. Back to blocked
Quote:At one point it was TMD, BrKlyn and Kaye all tweeting at each other. It was great. Of course Mike Kaye was on the other end of those two's argument.Lol, I can see TMD and BrKlyn hanging out together. They would need a lot of tissue
Quote:I just think that's the wrong way or wording it.Grade and group players by tiers, take the player that fits the biggest need from the top tier left when you go on the clock. Don't reach down a full tier to take a need, but you should absolutely take a guy that might be graded slightly lower if you have a much bigger need there.
Who is the better player? In 2 years - you don't know if we will have Odrick or this style of defense or anything like that.
I know it's hard to look past our current personnel and defense, but when you pick in the top 5 you should draft the best player overall... you're drafting someone who could possibly be a building block for the next 5-10 years.

The Chargers will probably draft him ... the man has the biggest hands in NFL Combine history to go along with his 6'7 1/2" stature that runs a 40 yd dash at 5 secs or less..

He's in play," <a class="bbc_url" href='https://twitter.com/PriscoCBS'>@PriscoCBS</a> on <a class="bbc_url" href='https://twitter.com/1010XL'>@1010XL</a>. <a class="bbc_url" href='https://twitter.com/hashtag/Jaguars?src=hash'>#Jaguars</a>they are all in play
Quote:I get the whole "fit" perspective, but if you think he's elite you don't pass on him. If you are either worried about Jack's knee (doubt it), or Bosa you think is just going to be very good but never a building block level piece on defense, and you think Buckner is, you don't pass on an elite talent for a very good. We need help rushing the passer on defense. We need disruptive playmakers. If Buckner is that, then go ahead and take him. IDC where he plays if he will do that in his career.
If this guy is a guy you think will be an all-pro player at the NFL level, are you seriously telling me that you would pass on him? We haven't had a player like that on defense in forever. IDC if we have solid pieces at those positions. We rotate defensive lineman a ton. If we have Buckner, Fowler, Malik, Sen, etc. going at the passer next year and for years to come this defense is going to have a seriously good pass rush if Fowler and Buckner live up to their expectations.
I get it, Bosa is a better fit, but if we take Buckner than Wash/Bradley/Caldwell obviously think they can get all these playmakers in often. They wouldn't take him if they didn't think they could all get enough snaps here.

Quote:The guard took one step then tapped him on the shoulders as he ran by.lol So true. How did Buckner do against top level talent? Not some FCS school
