Who is the better player?   In 2 years - you don't know if we will have Odrick or this style of defense or anything like that.

 

I know it's hard to look past our current personnel and defense, but when you pick in the top 5 you should draft the best player overall... you're drafting someone who could possibly be a building block for the next 5-10 years.

I personally think Jack is the better player.  Even someone that's huge on Buckner probably would agree that they are at least in the same tier.  So I'll take the better player and bigger need.

I honestly have no clue how Buckner did so it was kind of a legit question. I just don't think you can post a video of Buckner dominating a small school and say "look at this guy dominate!"

I was sold when Spence dominated the senior bowl practices and the game.

I've heard Buckner described as a faster and more flexible Calais Campbell.

I don't see him being faster or more flexible than Campbell.  Their body type, position, and strength are similar, but Campbell trumps him in everything else.

so did Dee Ford in 2014.... and he was a late 1st round pick and hasn't done much since.

David Johnson tore up the senior bowl and now he's a stud. That argument stinks. I liked what I saw from Spence and would select him at 38. That's all I gotta say.

Spence also had 8 sacks as a sophomore at Ohio State. His successes aren't only in the FCS.

He also started the final five games last season and had 4 sacks in them.

I haven't really compared their combine stats as I don't usually look at that too in depth.  I'm basing it off of their film.  Buckner never really impressed me about his quickness getting off of the LOS, nor has he really shown me that he is more flexible to beat blocks.  He's kind of like Bosa where if he gets stuck on a block, he really has trouble getting away from it.
