By rights, I honestly lean left on most issues (especially social ones), but I do not believe in anyone getting something for nothing "just because." I don't care who you are or where you come from. Make an honest attempt and I'm all for lending a hand.

And it may be a small percentage of folks who are taking advantage of the system,  no one knows for sure, but small numbers can create huge problems. 

 

I bet this happens more than we know. I fail to see how the average person who's busted their backsides all their lives but falls on hard times and has to seek help for any extended period of time wouldn't. I envision it being much like drifting towards the event horizon of a super-massive black hole. You need a stable support network to keep you from crossing over (which you did) but enough people don't and that, too, is a problem.
