Quote:So, wait. Weren't the message board GMs ripping the front office for not getting a deal done while he was here? Going so far as to make fun of the team for trying to get him to stay put and not head back to Pittsburgh?Spot on.
Some times these deals require some time to complete. I'm surprised it happened this quickly to be honest, but if/when he's fully recovered from the ACL injury, he's going to be pressing Joeckel hard for the starting role. When healthy, I don't think that's going to be a huge issue to accomplish.
Awesome. I love this off season

MB GM's need to look closely at the chess game that FA is at this level of Talent and that hitting on 4/5 is way above avg.
Landing Beachum is huge for the future, it just took a little while longer.
All of these players know something is building here and it's time.
Remember, the Browns are where we were in 2013.

I concur with several of you.
Best off season on record.
2016 is looking better and better.
I sense it....
Those of us who have stayed around during the tough times are soon to be rewarded with a kick A** team!
Go JAGUARS! !!

This guy will be the starting LT when the season rolls around. Steelers fans speak very highly of him.

Its hard to love without landing a top pass rusher and having the most cap space.

Quote:The contract should tell us whether the team views him as a tackle, a guard, or competition and depth. If the stories are correct.
He's too good to just be depth, imo. My bet is that either he slides inside to guard or he kicks Joeckel inside.
We were stalking him at the the way to the airport trying to get him to sign.
And if that's true.
He ain't gonna be nothing BUT the starting LT. if he's recovered from his injury

Nothing like replacing your #2 overall pick with a 7th rounder lol
Texted my buddy who is a Steelers fan and he loves him. Said he's a little small but is really good.

I have faith in BIG DAVE.
I believe we did was was reasonable in trying to land a top leo.
I think the improvements on the interior of the d line from last year to next year will make a huge difference.
I believe we're gonna have multiple sacks every game.
With whoever we play at leo.
It's starting to look like a good team...
Best off season ever...

I don't see joker err i mean Joeckel leaving the team this year, with all the cap space its a better idea to keep him and let them fight it out.. either way we end up with a more than serviceable backup in Joeckel or Kelvin for a season.
And all football fans understand the importance of backups/depth

Their responses were identical
"Never heard much of him when he was starting, but big Ben had ALL DAY"

Quote:Maybe Luke goes back to RT? Would the line be Beachum, Cann, Bowanko, Linder, Parnell? Did we just indirectly bench Joeckel?
Joeckel is either depth till his contract is up, or trade bait for a pass rusher.
Beachum and Parnell are the tackles and we'll draft a center or guard to add in with Linder&Cann.

We're building a monster team.
Takes time bby.
We may not be totally ready for a deep run in the playoffs next year.
But I'll bet we are A LOT MORE SOLID AND BEAT SOME REALLY GOOD TEAMS NEXT YEAR.
BET....
IT'S ON BBY...
DUVALLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

I suppose this answers the question of whether the team will pick up Joeckel's option or not.

I think we'll be fine with whoever Dave puts at leo this year.
I predict multiple sack games are here...
Let the games begin

Nice! Nice little cap off for our FA class.
If Dave can address the pass rush and LB spot in the first two rounds that we are golden.

Personally I think Dante Fowler will be a beast this year. I think we'll grab someone in the first 3 rounds to rotate with him. You guys have an irrational fear of rookies (Fowler isn't even a rookie and has been around the team for a year now). 2 years ago we had rookies like Robinson, Hurns, Telvin and Linder beasting.
