Do these jobs offer good healthcare packages?

Quote:Well, Jax once was a big military town, so Pence is probably right.  Trump's budget robs the arts and poverty programs to extend the war machine, and Jax is well positioned for a resurgence!

Want a job?

Enlist.

Too old?  Too bad.

Failing to give someone other people's money is not robbery, except by the ridiculous viewpoint of the Left.

Quote:Oh, no, it's not the $15 minimum wage, although that could bring some automation to the fast food joints.

I'm talking about factory jobs.  Robots don't form a union, they don't need a retirement or pension plan, they don't need health insurance, they don't go on strike.  They also don't come in hung over, and they don't lose concentration and make mistakes.
This is already happening because of the $15 min wage issue.

But there is no $15 min wage.

There is a significant political movement agitating for it.
Quote:There are scientists in Jacksonville. But there aren't any major laboratories in the city.

Perhaps not, but we have the state of the art MOSH Museum !!   :woot:
lol .... 1 year ago Pence was telling Carrier "adios amigo" from his home state of Indiana.

Not Federal ... yet. Several states are phasing in a $15 minimum wage.

My favorite part of this thread was when the blue collard posters made fun of solid for being a snob, because he put down blue collar workers. Only to turn around and put down service workers, hilarious.
Quote:There are no "scientists" in Jacksonville, eh?

Maybe I missed something but what is the reason or need to poke fun at Solid Snake for being a scientist?
Right, theres plenty of other material.

They aren't making fun of him for being one, they just don't believe he actually is one.

Solid Snake is a scientist the same way George Constanza is a Marine Biologist.

Is there reason to believe he isn't one? He seems like an intelligent well articulated guy.

I don't post much anymore and read through posts when I can so I apologize if this is an obvious question that I simply missed.

Interesting.

Is it simply because your opinions differ from his views or do you have factual reasons to believe he isn't telling the truth?

I just reread the thread and didn't see anyone put them down. That simple fact is that an economy built on service jobs will eventually have no one to service. That's not insulting, it's just economics.

I'm pretty sure he really is what he claims.

That, I don't know. I just know that some don't believe he's a real scientist.

Yes there is. Just not on the federal level yet. Google regarding states and the min wage. It was also in the news a while back. I believe it was McDonald's in a specific article that was going in the direction of automated kiosks where you put in your own order and pay with credit or debit similar to Panera Bread. If you pay cash there you order from an actual person.
I don't have any reason to lie. And I apologize if I sounded elitist or whatever, I just feel like if Jville ever wants to take the next step into becoming a true big city then it needs jobs like one. In any case, if I really wanted to lie I'd say something cooler like I'm co owner of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and I make millions annually selling stickers.
