Quote:I'll give you that, but presuming he keeps doing what he did this year, there's a good debate to be had.
No there isn't. There's one thing ARob does better than JSmooth...and that's high point a ball.
Jimmy is better in everything else, including speed and route running. ARob is a tremendous athlete still learning how to play receiver. He's a more complete receiver than Arob.
Can Arob get there? Yes. But too early to be talking best ever.
Yeah, Jimmy Smith is still number 1 all-time for the Jags. It does appear though that Allen Robinson has surpassed Keenan.
1) Jimmy Smith
2a) Allen Robinson
2b) Keenan McCardell
3) Allen Hurns
Good luck figuring out number 4

ARob is also way better at finding the endzone... Jimmy always took the quickest route to the sideline after the catch.
J smooth is the jags best wr..
Allen Robinson is the youngest wr ever in NFL history to get 1400 yards and 14 td.. At the age of 22.. He's young and learning still.. He and hurns know what there capable of.. Now that they know that.. Robinson said he wants to attack everything.. Like Antonio brown and Julio Jones.. Which opposing defenses would have a lot to worry about.. Also marcedes lewis wants to retire a jaguar..

Robinson isn't even close to being in the same sentence as Smith.
Smith was has a 291 yard game. He caught a game winner in our first year in the playoffs in Denver. He has multiple Pro Bowls. He is on the all time receiving list pretty far up there.
Way too early.
McCardell is still #2. Read above. Except 291 he had 18 receptions vs Rams.
AROB needs about 3 more years like this past year. Glad he made the Pro Bowl as first alternate.

Robinson is more athletic than Smith was and has a much wider catch radius. I'm not saying Robinson is or isn't better than Smith, but you sound stupid saying ARob is inferior to Smith in every aspect besides high pointing the ball.
Quote:Are we at a point where we can say ARob is better than J. Smooth?
While Jimmy perfected the tippy-toe sideline catch, he was so quick to find the shortest route to the sideline whereas Allen understands the importance of scoring TDs. As for hands, I would say it's a wash disregarding Jimmy's last few years when he struggled with drops. Speed appears to be a wash as well. I'll give Jimmy a route running edge only because you rarely ever saw him not double teamed, and ARob will still draw occasional single coverage, but even there it's close. All said, I feel we very well may be talking about the best WR in Jaguars history, and this was only his second season.
One key thing is that Allen Robinson is just 22 years old. Allen Robinson has 3 more seasons of possible improvement before he is the age Jimmy was when he came to Jacksonville.
Jimmy also had 2 110+ catch seasons.

How many 14 TD seasons?
How many 1600k seasons does Allen have?
Quote:How many 14 TD seasons?
We are arguing this? They are both amazing! I love JS and when he goes in the pride it will be one of my happy days - but I love the ceiling on Arob - he seems like a smart and dedicated guy - he is gonna be great! PS..How many think JS and KM Should go into the Pride together?
Quote:How many 14 TD seasons?
To be fair - most of us recall Coughlin primarily running the ball or occasionally throwing to TE's in the red-zone.
Jimmy didn't usually get as many red zone looks as Robinson saw this year.
I'm just thrilled we have a receiver worthy of the comparison again after such a drought.
Quote:How many 1600k seasons does Allen have?
Well, damn.
Dang he's like 22? Hopefuly next year is his 1600 yd season...

How many 1,400 yard seasons did Jimmy have be 22? Don't be stupid.
Sorry but no. There have been hof players that have said jimmy smith is one of the greatest wrs that have ever played the game.
How many 1,400 yard seasons did Jimmy "have be 22"?
And you're calling ME stupid? That's rich.
Quote:How many 1,400 yard seasons did Jimmy have be 22? Don't be stupid.
Of course, Josh Gordon had a 1600 yard season at 23....and he turned into a Hall of Famer....

My drunk typo does not let you off the hook for stupidly comparing 22 year old Robinson's accolades to 26 year old Jimmy's accolades.
