Quote:You know who bortles reminds me of? Fitzpatrick. He is a strong armed gunslinger with good athletically and a knack for tough plays but is wildly inconsistent and good for at least a couple total idiotic mistakes per game.

That's your opinion and you're certainly entitled to it. Do you know who Mariota reminds me of? Vince Young. He's a flash in the pan talent and when the rookie honeymoon is over I fully expect him to turn into a career backup or out of the league in a couple years. Just like Young, RG3, and Kaepernick.
Quote:I have never said he's a top QB? Please quote me on that... I would put him around top 10 just ahead of Luck, way above the rest of the AFC South QBs.

PS link to your papers would love to read them, may help me sleep well. I've also got a master's degree but don't think it's a big deal. Small bloke syndrome?
The kid thinks he is special studying a pseudo-science.

baconator, get back to me when you publish in a tier 1 scientific journal with a high impact factor.
Quote:Pretty clear how? His embarrassing completion %? His wonky mechanics? Horrible decision making? Mariota is literally better in every aspect of the game except the deep ball. Though considering he is already better at that than bortles was, all he needs is a wr who can make receptions downfield. Mariota's superior football iq, awareness, throwing mechanics and footwork, and his athleticism give him a much higher ceiling.
How is it embarrassing? What are these wonky mechanics that you speak of? Horrible decision making? Yeah, he makes some bad decisions at times. Would you say a HOF QB like Favre had horrible decision making? Cause he threw way more INT's in his first two years.

"Mariota is literally better in every aspect of the game except the deep ball." This is just a homer opinion. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, and I want to see the proof that makes him 'literally better'. You just admitted a week ago that Bortles is the better QB at the moment, but now he's not? That doesn't make sense. Superior awareness? It's funny, cause Bortles has very good awareness usually and is able to escape pressure most of the time. Footwork? Once again you have no idea what you're talking about. Explain why he has better footwork, lol. Mariota has a fast release but can't throw a deep ball? Yep, that's definitely superior throwing mechanics. Also, Bortles' throw on the run is a thing of beauty. Deadly accurate and can throw it VERY deep. Athleticism? He can run fast, but that's it. Doesn't make him more athletic.

Anyways, none of this really matters. Bortles will outshine Mariota by a large margin because of the talent he is surrounded by. You're frustrated now because people think Bortles is better... Oh man, just wait til this offense matures and gets even better. It won't even be up for discussion.
Mariota will be a backup QB in 4 years. Simple as that.

He's going to get washed out, like other similar QBs (RG3, Kap, etc), with teams having an offseason to prepare with a season's worth of tape.

The dink and dunk mindset won't get you far in this league.

So apparently Bortles has all these issues needing fixing yet has been putting up eye popping numbers. Suggests he has an unbelievable ceiling no?...

I bet Bortles would turn a few of those Titan receivers into stars like he has for hurns and Robinson. Let's not forget how many wr were drafted before Robinson and hurns was undrafted. It's not like they were Calvin Johnson and AJ green on draft day.
Quote:Why are you guys giving any of these Colts fans the time of day? I live in Indy and they are the most delusional, arrogant, entitled Corkies I've ever dealt with in any city for any team. You've got to be pretty desperate for attention to troll some other team's Message Board, presumably because you can't find any kind of acceptance on your own. Whatever FBT wants to hang on these lowlifes is fine with me.

So true.  You forgot classless and whiney though.   They all jumped on the bandwagon at the same time... they'll bail out soon enough.
Quote:You know who bortles reminds me of? Fitzpatrick. He is a strong armed gunslinger with good athletically and a knack for tough plays but is wildly inconsistent and good for at least a couple total idiotic mistakes per game.

You know, I thought you were an idiot before.

I'm sure now.
Quote:Outplayed him how? Advanced metrics show that Mariota was the better qb that day. You're ignoring the facts. The jags should be upset they wasted a #3 pick when they could have got the better qb in the 2nd round. Or upset that they wasted another top pick on a one dimensional injury bust.

He literally explained it in the post you replied to.

Bortles torched the titans. The titans whose defense is supposed to be pretty good with a high level pass rush.

Mariota torched the jaguars defense which has a terrible pass rush and has been a sieve all season.

I know IQ, on average, is a lot lower in Tennessee, but surely you must be able to comprehend that.

Also as stated before, I think mariota will be a good qb, but especially right now it's clear bortles is playing at a higher level and has the higher ceiling.

In terms of the clots, their performance against the jaguars was almost as laughable as cw's performance on this board.

Their defense has been good enough this year for their second string qb to pick up some wins. Now....far be it for me to say that the colts looked better with him under center than luck, even before luck was "banged up," but the jaguars annihilated that team. 51 points, even though not all notched in by the offense is hilarious. The colts had the brakes beaten off them by the jaguars and bortles, who the majority of clots fans on this board love to try and talk crap about.

Feel free to come back with one of your classic cw posts about how I'm always wrong or dont know what I'm talking about but at this point in time I think everyone is on to your game and understands that you're just a clots apologist who will say anything to try and make it seem like your team and your fans aren't hot garbage.

The suck for luck campaign just evolved into a decade long suck with luck campaign and I'll be more than happy to remind you of that every chance I get.

So funny. If fitz actually did have a wrong arm he would be one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

His problem is, his brain writes too many checks that his arm can't cash.

lol at "wrong" arm.

That's a good one.
Quote:Future tie breakers aside, Deacon makes sense
.

You should probably lie down and take something until that feeling passes.

Hahahaha subconscious autocorrect maybe. My bad, STRONG arm.

Most would be off now if they didn't suck for Luck.
Quote:Are you trying to troll Colts fans? Because it was pretty lucky that one wasn't intercepted.

One? There was at least 4 or 5 that were easy picks, but dropped.

Funny that loa usually criticizes Luck when this happens to him.

In every attempt to be totally unbiased - I've watched the game three times and saw exactly three "pick-able" balls thrown by Bortles.

Which is still unacceptable to Jags fans and doesn't really weaken your point.
Quote:You trolling a message board doesn't equate to anyone on said message board giving a rat's rear about you, Narcissus.

Seriously...

Why when an opposing fan posts it automatically = trolling? You Jag fans have the same response to everything "troll!!!" "quit whining!!!!!"

Jag fans have the biggest trolls and whiners I've seen. Probably why you guys are so quick to claim someone else is.

Think of a new one.

In your case, it's because you got butthurt because Jags fans had the unmitigated gall to celebrate beating a division rival on our own message board.

In Baconator's case, it's because he had the unmitigated silliness to equate Bortles to Fitzpatrick.

Oh that's another one! Every time I post I'm butthurt or upset.

I genuinely thought it was funny the way you guys were acting, that's how I really feel. Despite what you guys are trying to infer through a post  Laughing

EDIT: Actually, if anything you guys were butthurt I thought it was funny.  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

I'm not sure why cw keeps coming back. It's like walking into a building multiple times a day, being yelled at and having poop flung at you, only to keep repeating the process.

Maybe he's going for early entry to the jags bandwagon.

Why?  This one fits.
