Quote:No it wasn't. He was totally inbounds when he got hit.
Sometimes they'll still throw it when it's inbounds if it's clear the qb is giving himself up. Telvin is lucky there was no flag.

Quote:Posted this already but Roy Millers hit on Hasselbeck was a thing of pure beauty. Hit him like a truck.
Clemons and Miller hit him together, but it looked to me like Clemons was the one that really got him good.

Quote:Hasslebeck's tantrum was classic, what a drama queen.
Matt Hasselbeck looked like a total idiot on our sideline throwing his helmet around and hitting a water cooler. If you run to a linebacker on the sideline, you are asking to be pushed out of bounds!

I'm 44 and I couldn't even remotely imagine playing in the NFL. Things went South for my recovery at 40. The Military and Sports are for young people. I couldn't imagine going back on a Navy ship and functioning the way my body has broken down.

Nah wasn't on the sack. The first time Hasselbeck went down it was from Miller smashing him.

That was a clean play. Hasselbeck was still clearly inbounds and while close to the line, was in fact still moving forward at an easy trot as if to suggest he was going to step out... except he didn't step out. It was a shove, not a 'hit'. If you're a quarterback and you are running down field and making no attempt to 'slide', you are now a running back and are going to get treated like one. If you're a 40+ year old quarterback you should know better.
Sorry 'beck; you're not going to get treated softer because of your age.

Quote:it was kind of a late hit by Telvin Smith. I was a litte surprised we didn't get flagged. It was kind of a late hit by Telvin when he hit him in bounds? Really?

Quote:He basically had one foot out of bounds.. you know how this league is and i'm really surprised they didn't call it. Not complaining just surprised.

The picture says it all. He was clearly still in bounds, but that was never the issue. The issue was that Has was just as clearly giving himself up going out of bounds. Look at the picture. He wasn't trying to get extra yards. The ref could have easily thrown a flag here, but I like the no call.

If the ref had thrown a flag it would have been total BS. If Smith had come over and leveled him...maybe. There is no way a flag could...or should...have been thrown on that play.

At the same time, it wasn't a "hit" it was a push. Had Telvin slammed him to the ground I could understand it being questionable. This shouldn't even be a discussion

Quote:I agree with that. I know he was in bounds (barely) but I've seen that flagged before. It was borderline. If 'father time' can't take it then he needs to get his frail bones the heck off the field before he really does get hit.

What they SHOULD have thrown a flag for there was for a personal foul on Hasselbeck for unnecessary whining.

LOL That is called unsportsmanlike conduct. Apparently officials don't care how a player reacts to getting pushed out of bounds.

There was nothing wrong with the hit, but you can bet Tom Brady draws a flag there.

Hasselbeck could not have been more of a cry baby about it. He had a legit tantrum for 15 minutes.
