The Falcons game is winnable. Did you see how thoroughly they were thumped this week?

The Saints game is a toss-up, but I'd give the edge to the Saints.

If the Jags win those two games somehow, the Texans game could end up being for the AFCS. If the Jags lose two of those three games, then no question Bradley should go. But if they finish the year a competitive 7-9, I'd be tempted to approach it from the angle of, "What if he really is just a late bloomer?".
Quote:I'm not expecting a super bowl run, just trying to ascertain our standings and if it is actually a scenario that could happen. Did you think ourJags would win the division?

This team is not going to the playoffs, period.

Jags are not gonna win out.
<p class="">Posted this last week if the tinhorns lose to pats week 14 check

Lets Look at the remainign schedules, in theory we could be playing the tinhorns for the division in the last game.

Week 14   clots play Jags (must win for Jags if any hope)

tinhorns play the Pats (pats could put a 70burger on them as [BAD WORD REMOVED] after losing 2 in a row)

tacks play Jets (toss up but still think jets will win)

Week 15    clots play tinhorns (would be pulling for clots in this one)

tacks play the Pats (i think tacks dont stand a snowballs chance)

Jags play ATL  (another we need to win this one)

Week 16    tacks play tinhorns (pulling for tacks in this one)

clots play miami     (toss up think miami the beter team might be lucks return)

Jags play Saints   (still need to win this one )

Week 17    tacks play clots (need tacks to win)

Jags play tinhorns for the Division

So reasonably if we beat clots  and win out and other games fall our way going into last week:

Jags 7-8

tinhorns 7-8

clots 7-8

tacks 4-9

we would need tack beat clots and we would play tinhorns for division

Quote:I think we are officially out of the running for a wildcard.

As far as the division, we have to win it outright at 8-8.  We cant win a tiebreaker.  And since the Texans and Colts have one more game against each other, one of them will get to at least 7 wins.  So the winner of that game has to lose their remaining games.  Ideally Houston wins that game because one of their remaining games is against us.  So one less game that would be out of our control.

Ya know my original statement was incorrect.  I do think there is one scenario where we can win the tiebreaker.  And that's if we finish 7-9 tied with the Texans and the Colts lose out to finish 6-10.  We can go 1-1 against the Falcons and Saints and then beat the Texans to go 7-9.  We would need them to beat Indy but then lose to Ten and us.  And we would need Indy to lose out.  Obviously this is an outlier.  But it is just one more reason why we should root for the Texans over the Colts next weekend.
Making the playoffs is a very slim chance due to the division record tiebreaker. First, Jags basically need to win out which includes 2 road games. The only way this isn't required is if Tennessee is able to beat both Indy and Houston, Houston wins vs Indy next week, and Indy loses @Miami. So, unlikely.

Then, Indy needs to lose 2 of 3. There is no way for the Jags to beat out Indy if both teams are 8-8.

Then, Houston needs to lose at least one of their next two (@ IND or @TEN).

To put it in terms of next week's Indy-Houston game:

If Indy wins, need them to drop BOTH of their two other games (@MIA, vs. TEN).

If Houston wins, need Indy to drop 1 more game AND Houston to lose @ TEN.

We also win a 3 way tie at 7-9, provided Indy's only win is against Miami, and Houston only beats Indy.

I noticed they don't have us "in the hunt" on the afc playoff picture boards....anyone know why?
What do the Cards have to do with it ?

Quote:I noticed they don't have us "in the hunt" on the afc playoff picture boards....anyone know why?
I saw one earlier today that had the Jags listed but the SNF didn't have it. They aren't necessarily a list of everyone who isn't mathematically eliminated, just capturing the likely contenders for playoff spots. The Jaguars do not fit that description.
Would love to see the colts and texans lose out.... Man it feels pretty good to care about the season this late.

Probably because we're not a wild card challenger.
Quote:Blake is inconsistent. He was a lot better in the 2nd half, and our defense just falls apart. How many times was Hilton all alone?

You are complaining about our defense. That obviously has nothing to do with Blake Bortles.
Quote:Honestly, its a toss up once you get there. Anything can happen, but I think we'd get smacked against the Steelers or Patriots for sure.

Obviously not the Patriots. Division title winners always play at home in the WC round.

The Jets have a better chance of getting in than the Steelers.
If the jags win out. They be 8-8. Lol
Quote:If we somehow made the playoffs, this team would get smoked in the wild card.

I disagree.

If they somehow make the playoffs, they would likely face either the Jeta or the Chiefs. We could beat one of those teams and we would be the got team going into the playoffs.

However, if we played the Steelers, they would wreck us.
People act like if we make the playoffs, it doesn't matter because we'd llkely lose.....

Like making the playoffs isn't an accomplishment and we shouldn't be thrilled to make it.

(not even factoring in how far the team would have come in 2 years)

Quote:Please go away! 51 points today, and still miserable

I know. Some people are only happy when they complain, which never makes any sense to me.

So are any Panthers fans complaining about winning 38-0? LOL
Quote:I noticed they don't have us "in the hunt" on the afc playoff picture boards....anyone know why?

Because we have no chance of getting in as a wild card team. Broadcasters only talk about the four division leaders and teams leading in the wild card race.

People are just assuming we would lose, not saying they don't care.
A playoff team is a playoff team. Win and move on. 1 and done for all. Anything can happen.
