We have to keep in mind as huge fans we are bias towards most of the Jaguar players seeing them in a better light than everybody whom is not a fan of Jacksonville.
That being said I really thought that if nothing else Poz shouldve made the ILB list this year, especially considering that he missed a few games due to injury. Telvin Smith shouldve made alternate too.
I don't think anybody is arguing Allen Robinson is better than Antonio Brown. Calvin Johnson, absolutely when you only look at 2015 numbers.
What nobody has mentioned yet is the fact that no New England WRs got in. Wouldn't you expect one of those guys, maybe Danny Amendola, to have Pro Bowl numbers with top vote getter Tom Brady throwing to them?
Quote:Only if you are a Broncos fan.
What makes you say that? Brandon Marshall is one of the best WRs in the NFL and everyone knows about him. He plays for the Jets now and has also played for the Dolphins and Bears.

Totally agree. Both are hanging around top 5 in tackles. Poz has a few picks as well. With a broke hand!

Many people on this board think that way, but the numbers are there for Allen Robinson. He really was a snub.
Quote:AJ Green has 20 less targets but more yards. And his TD numbers suffered this year due to the Bengals having a slew of legitimate weapons poaching scores (namely Eifert, Jones, Hill).
ARob is definitely deserving,, but Green also belongs for sure. AROB has gotten a good portion of TDS because the Jags cannot score a Touchdown by running it. That's not to diminish ARob in any way, as he still makes those plays. But numbers skew in different ways for different reasons.
Antonio Brown definitely belongs. He is absolutely one of the best WR. He had to play almost half the season with backup QBs that are awful. Thus, numbers dipped somewhat. Michael Vick couldn't hit the broad side of a barn,, and didn't even target Brown much at all. Landry Jones was almost identical in regards to Brown.
Calvin Johnson? Absolutely one of the most talented. But,, not a Pro-Bowl season from him. I'll agree there.
Regarding Calvin Johnson, until I saw a post from Sosa in another thread on this Forum about the possibility of Calvin Johnson reaching the Pro Bowl, I didn't even give it thought as a realistic possibility. While there are a number of reasons why Calvin Johnson's numbers are down, he probably didn't deserve to be voted to the Pro Bowl. Like I mentioned earlier in this thread, I doubt he will be playing in the Pro Bowl game. Injuries have kept him out of playing in the Pro Bowl for years and that will very likely be the case again. As long as Allen Robinson remains relatively healthy, he's headed to the Pro Bowl.
On the other hand, in addition to Ziggy Ansah, who clearly earned his way to the Pro Bowl, I thought Darius Slay deserved serious consideration. Like many Jaguars fans disappointed about the results of some of the Jaguars players in the Pro Bowl selection process, I'm disappointed that Slay didn't even make it as an Alternate. Unless you have great numbers ( Slay only had 2 interceptions ) AND get plenty of National TV exposure ( with strong performances on National TV ) , it's hard to get into the Pro Bowl the first time. Once you get voted in, the benefit of the doubt is much more on your side.
The Jaguars are ranked 25th against the Pass, and 25th in INTs (which the team has 8 out of that 8 Poz has 3 of them that is almost half)!
Poz is 2nd in the NFL with 3 INT among MLB (Kuechly has 4) Kuechly has very similar stats to Poz, but Kuechly has less tackles (30 less solo than Poz and Kuechly has 1 sack where Poz has 0).
Really I think Poz should've went instead of Kuechly.
Robinson could end up with 1400 yards and 15 touchdowns with 32 plays for 20 yards or more with 30 less catches and rank number 1 in ypc
That is more than just a snub. He should have been a shew in.

Preach!
Darius Slay is listed as a "victim of the numbers game at deep positions." In other words, there are too many other good cornerbacks with Pro Bowl worthy statistics. Others on that list include Andy Dalton, which should end the rants about a certain Jaguars quarterback not getting in. Slay definitely is playing well this season, but I could not tell if he was Pro Bowl caliber or not without seeing many Lions games.

Watt-ch out for Houston's pass defense. (See what I did there?) The Texans will make sure Allen Robinson can't get to 1400. Currently Robinson has 1,141 yards IIRC. A more realistic goal for him would be 1200 yards.
Quote:I think he'll be in the Pro Bowl but we all know it will be out of default, which is why I oppose the Pro Bowl being before the Super Bowl (should be after like it was for decades).
Another reason I oppose the Pro Bowl is they took away AFC vs. NFC games. Now the whole board is talking about Calvin Johnson, who plays in the NFC, being voted in over Allen Robinson, who plays in the AFC. That is not right either.
Quote:5 out of 8 pro bowl wr last year dropped out.. Do to super bowl and other reasons.. I believe that aj green robbed robinson of his pro bowl.. Robinson has more explosive plays than him with 31 plays of 20-40 yards.. Plus he has less catches than Greene with 69.. Greene has 77 catches.. Greene has 8 TD robinson has 13.. Robinson plays on a crappier team.. Robinson is the youngest wr since moss '98 to be the age 22 or younger.. To get 1000 yards and 9 plus TD in his first twelve games.. Odell Beckham did it in twelve games but not his first twelve games.. I can go on and on lol.. Not to mention brees is possibly out next week due to platus tear in foot.. Then jags play texans week 17.. Jags could go 7-9.. Robinson could get 15-17 td.. Last two teams saints Texans have horrible secondary.. Robinson could post randy moss Calvin Johnson type stats..
I agree

So his goal should be another 59 yards with 2 games left?

No, I would argue no Patriots WR should be voted to the Pro Bowl. Go to bed Corky....
ARob and Telvin should've made it
Forget Pro-Bowl. I want him to destroy the Saints and Texans so that he has a chance at All-Pro 2nd team. That means more in my opinion. He would likely needs beat out Hopkins, Marshall, & Green for yards though to have a chance.
The Saints game will get national airspace though, and is being played during most fantasy championship games or semis. He has a shot if he gets something like 150 yards + 1-2 TD's, and then follows that with a solid performance against the Texans, say ~70 yards + 1 TD.
Quote:ARob and Telvin should've made it
^This but the Jags being an overall crappy team hindered their chance.
Quote:It really makes you shake your head
i mean the OLB that made it;
Jamie Collins -76 Tack, 41 solo, 5.5 sacks, 5 PDef, 1 INT, 4 FF
Justin Houston - 30 Tack, 25 Solo, 7.5 Sacks, 8 PDef, 2INT, 1 TD
Von Miller - 31 tackles, 26 solo, 10 sacks, 4 FF, 0 PDef, 0 INT
DeMarcus Ware - 20 Tckl, 6.5sck, 1FF, 0INT, 0PDef (i mean he has more sacks but was used to rush more than Telvin).
Thomas Davis- 97 Tackles, 70 Solo, 5.5 Sacks, 4 FF, 1 FR, 3 INT, 6 PDef
Tamba Hali- 48 Tackles, 39 Solo, 6.5 Sacks, 2 FF, 0 INT
Let's look at Telvin Smith stats so far this year
128 (3rd place) tackles 99 solo (2nd in the NFL) 2.5 sacks, 8 PDef 1 INT 1 TD 2 FF
I think a good argument could be made for Telvin over Ware & Hali in the ProBowl. The Jaguars are out of the playoffs if they are going to play Telvin in these last two meaningless games why not have him simply rush every down to get more sacks if for no other reason than to show them all wrong.. im sure if he rushes every time he'll get a few sacks before the end of the season!
Not to mention the INT that was called back due to a penalty by other teammate, and I think he had another INT that had a penalty too.
Most of those guys mainly rush the qb too. They should either put them in the DE category or have 3-4 and 4-3 spots.
As far as Bortles goes I wouldn't vote any QB on a losing team into the Pro Bowl.
