Quote:Oh trust me, they will.

First 1k WR since Jimmy that we've been so desperate for.

Him and Hurns will be locked up along with Telvin.

Linder won't be far behind.

How about blake?
So the Pro Bowl WRs are Julio, Fitz, AJ, Megatron, Hopkins, OBJ, Antonio and Marshall. Of these, i fell like ARob has outplayed Megatron who didn't even show up until mid-season along with AJ. Still, we know he's close to most of these guys, and I'd love to see him end up on the field. As a first alternate, what are the chances one of these WRs gets hurt and misses the game. I can totally see an older guy like Fitz or Megatron missing the game.

At qb I don't really see it as a snub against Bortles. The qbs who made it are pretty darn good. The list includes Brady, Rodgers, Cam, Palmer, Big Ben and Wilson, and as of late nobody has been better than Wilson.

BTW, a total of 78 players were selected. 24 of them, or nearly 1/3, are players from the Panthers, Seahawks or Patriots.

You are crazy if you think we have to win the division to get players voted in. We don't need to win eight games either. Odell Beckham and Calvin Johnson got in. It is all about player recognition. Allen Robinson's lack of recognition comes from the fact that we get little national attention from the media. We just need to win enough games to get more of that in a positive way.

Did JW just call me crazy?
I dont know why everyone is surprised. Its becausejaguars thats why, and we have sucked for many years. What do you expect. The team needs to win and this will.change.
Quote:What makes you say that? Brandon Marshall is one of the best WRs in the NFL and everyone knows about him. He plays for the Jets now and has also played for the Dolphins and Bears.

I guess playing for all those teams also makes him a journeyman WR too.
Quote:The Jaguars are ranked 25th against the Pass, and 25th in INTs (which the team has 8 out of that 8 Poz has 3 of them that is almost half)!

Poz is 2nd in the NFL with 3 INT among MLB (Kuechly has 4) Kuechly has very similar stats to Poz, but Kuechly has less tackles (30 less solo than Poz and Kuechly has 1 sack where Poz has 0).

Really I think Poz should've went instead of Kuechly.

Nah. Kuechly has 1 more pick. He's got a defensive touchdown. 2 forced fumbles. And double the amount of passes defended. And ask anyone with eyes, he's twice the player poz is.
Yes, the fan ballot sucks, and yes the small market works against Jaguars players, and yes both played a factor in no Jaguars being selected.

But there is another factor at work here.

Sometimes, it takes the voters (whomever they are) a year or so to "catch up."

I remember in the 1992-93 season, Dallas won the first of their three Super Bowls that decade.

That season they had the number one defense in the league, and no Pro Bowlers.

They had a popular and high profile team.  They were winners, and even had a year in the playoffs before the Super Bowl year.

But they had no pro bowlers.

I certainly believe AR15 was deserving of a Pro Bowl berth, and you could make a statistical argument Bortles was worthy too, along with Telvin Smith.

But unless a rookie gets insane hype and exposure coming into the league, or unless he explodes in a big market, he will often get overlooked his first breakout year.

Quote:^This but the Jags being an overall crappy team hindered their chance.
The truth sometimes hurts, but nevertheless remains the truth.

I heard John O the other day say he remembers in Indy that Wayne took a few years to make it even though he was deserving before that, and generally the perennial guys will make it a couple years after they aren't deserving. Much like Calvin this year.

I was going to write the same thing.

We might have to wait a while, but barring injury, players like ARob and Telvin could be back year after year once they gain more recognition.
My take:

1. ARob should have been in over Calvin J.

2. Telvin should've had a chance, but small market losing teams are tough, especially a young up and comer.

3.  Laughing at all of you who think Blake should've been in.  He shouldn't be in over anyone else currently voted in, he's turning the ball over too much and he's not winning games.  This isn't fantasy football.  Before you jump on me, I'm fully aware the defense sucks.  Also, I really like Blake and think he's the future, but I'm realistic.

Statistically Blake has the numbers. He's only thrown 2 more INTs than Ben and 13 more tds.

That said, I think wins factor A LOT into qb pro bowl bids. So that's not a surprise. ARob is a big surprise to me though.

It doesn't matter. I would rather have a team with no pro-bowl selections that wins the superbowl, than a team with a bunch of pro-bowlers (2007 Cowboys anyone?) that chokes in the playoffs. Besides, our team doesn't need any distractions right now- with what they are trying to accomplish.

Ben is winning games left and right, and has his team primed for the playoffs, all while missing nearly half a season. I have no problem with it.

Just be patient though. I bet these Jags get to play in the game anyway after half the players decline. Wasn't Garrard like a 2nd Alternate or something the year he played in it?
it's a popularity contest...

Quote:So his goal should be another 59 yards with 2 games left?

I did not say that.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Kuechly missed a couple games too.

Poz should be in the pro bowl?

maybe by skipping ahead posts I'm whooshing myself
Next year is probably the last year most idiots and talking heads outside our division don't see us coming.

We're on the verge of being a perennial power. Our guys will start getting more attention soon enough.

The pro bowl, like any all star game is kinda a joke. Usually it takes a couple years for everyone to figure out your are great. And then usually your keep making pro bowls a few years after you've washed up...

It's just the nature of sports, really. It happens in other sports as well...

Megatron is already hurt.

Green has had a down year.

Bortles didn't deserve to be in over any of those QBs. Although, Dalton maybe deserved to be in instead of Rodgers who had a down year.

The pro bowl is like this every year.... 1/3 of the selections come from 2-4 superbowl contender teams, another 1/3 of guys make it on name/team/rep alone (Kam Chancellor this year?)

it's whatever...

Every year, everyone says "Pro bowl is a joke..." "no one even watches that crap" etc. etc.

Every year, everyone whines and complains over the voting process.

Every year you tune in to see if our hapless Jags make the list in any fashion.

Then complain some more about being snubbed.

Ha-larious.
