We also get Colvin back in the slot this year.

Campbell, Church, Bouye added to an already stout and improving defense. Osweiller is lucky he is getting out of this division.

They'll probably land Romo though. Then, watch out for the next two seasons. Other teams get better too.

I hope they get Romo, do it Texans! He is practically made of glass at this point. I look forward to seeing Tom Savage or Brandon Weeden warming up on the sidelines.

A lot of things have to go well for Romo to be successful anywhere. He hasn't played a full season in years.
Good Houston Chronicle read on the Bouye signing:

http://www.chron.com/sports/texans/artic...er-desktop

Quote:At 6-foot, 190 pounds, Bouye is a tall, big cornerback who excels in press coverage. Rangy and aggressive, Bouye did a much better job this season of not dwelling on mistakes and playing instinctively.

<p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:RobotoRegular, Arial, sans-serif;font-size:16px;">A former starter at Central Florida for coach George O'Leary, Bouye cited those connections in helping him to build a rapport with Jaguars executive and former New York Giants Super Bowl winning coach Tom Coughlin.

<p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:RobotoRegular, Arial, sans-serif;font-size:16px;">"I could tell the Jaguars were really following me for my whole career from plays I made years ago against them," Bouye said. "A lot of people don't pay attention to that. I could tell they really wanted me. Tom Coughlin has ties to coach O'Leary. The vision they have for me as a player was something I was really excited for."

So is Bouye a Jag yet?
Yes
This is awesome

BUt regardless had one of the highest ratings.
Romo is the best FA available
Nope not released yet. They should see if Dallas take a fifth
Not going lie, I had some animosity toward Steve smith after that raven game but I like the respect he gave us after the bouye signing. They don't have to like each other but real recognize real I guess.

Tweet from @89SteveSmith

#Jaguars have instantly just became one of best CB tandems in league over-night!!!
We also kept him away from Houston and Tn.

Houston is hurting in their secondary right now.

Could really help us against their top defense.
I liked the move, but really liked it after reading the Chronicle article. Basically we took Houston's offer, sweetened it just a bit, and stole him from them for $4 million guaranteed, $7.5 million total. Not much extra to pay to take their best corner from them.

Just think.....

Ramsey on one side and Bouye on the other with Church at Safety...

Lock down. Man I can't wait to see these guys play together
Quote:Remember the time when Prince was abused repeatedly on slants by Michael Crabtree?

Best CB defending slant in 2016 (min. five targeted routes): A.J. Bouye, Texans

Bouye was targeted on slants 15 times, allowing five catches for 130 yards and one touchdown, but intercepting three passes. His three interceptions were tied for the lead league with Nolan Carroll. Six of the 10 incompletions were due to Bouye breaking up the pass. These numbers ranked him third among all corners, with a QB rating against of 48.6, and he earned PFF’s highest coverage grade versus the slant. Bouye was beaten once by Cincinnati’s Brandon LaFell, resulting in an 86-yard touchdown with 82 yards after the catch. Excluding this one play, Bouye gave up only 44 total yards on 14 passes for an average yards-per-target of 3.14, and just 4.75 YAC per completion. Bouye was in a cover-1 defense on 14 of the 15 slants, and he lined up on the right side on 12 of the 15 slants. Only one of the 15 targeted passes was on a play where the QB was under pressure, so the rushers can’t get credit for his outstanding performance. Bouye dominated the opposing receiver, making QBs pay when they tried to attack him with the slant.

That's a little misleading. And don't have to be under pressure for the rush to be a factor. Clowney watt and merciless put you in a lot of 3 step drop drop situations.
So expectation is Bouye is supposed to be some sort of insane shut down CB? Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it.

Can't wait to see the next undrafted CB to have a career year and Jags pay 15 mil. Sounds good. Brieann Boddy Calhoon in 2 years? Going to be SHUT DOWN!
