We won so it became the right call.  It is tough because if you get the first down, you take a knee the rest of the way and win the game.  But on the flipside we hadnt shown we could successfully get two inches when we needed to.

It was the right call because of the result, our defense was playing great all night.

I think it was the right call 100%

put us up by 6 and that may as well had been a two score lead with the way our D was playing.

It was the right call.  You forced the tacks to have to go down the field to score a TD to win the game, something they had trouble with most of the game.  Had they failed on the 4th down conversion, the tacks would have needed a short drive to get into field goal range to tie it.  It was the right call.

I don't fault Hurns on staying inbounds.  Guy is tough as nails.  He is all sorts of banged up and did what was right to protect himself.  I think he was close enough to the down marker that he thought he made the first down.  Honestly he isn't the problem, not being able to pick up a yard is the problem.

Quote:I don't think so. Kick a FG and you force them to get a TD.
Yea this. No TOs and have to go the length of the field for a TD instead of a fg
Next year when we have an offensive line that can actually move defenders backward off the line of scrimmage, going for it would have been the right call.....This year, not so much.

With the 3 Denard runs that got stuffed earlier in the game, you kick the FG.

I thought it was the right call. Would have gotten the Titans tails up big time if they stopped us.Good call.

And, the Tacks had not gotten into the Red Zone all night.   Not once.

Yep.  Get Linder back, get a new Center, get Cann a year in the weight room, and we're making that yard.
Ordinarily I'd say go for it. You have a 6'5" 235 pound QB. You figure a QB sneak could easily get the needed foot or so. And then it's just a matter of wasting the clock. But man, this team is the worst short yardage team I've seen.

lol @ a new center

lol @ Cann a year in the weight room

Wiz is playing well and Cann is as strong as an ox already. just needs to work on the technique of his game.

So... I just got home from Jax and logged into the board.  I have read two threads so far:

One was people complaining that we couldn't gain two yards in the red zone because we can't push ahead for short yardage

The other was people (some of whom complained in both threads) that were complaining that we didn't go for it in a short yardage situation at the end of the game and settling for a FG.  Given where the titans drove the ball to on their final possession that FG made the difference between winning and losing.

We're so used to complaining, it's on autopilot.

The majority of people are saying it was the right decision to take the 3 Smile
You could go for it there, but you already have been stopped twice on 3-1, if we go for it and not get it then MM leads them down the field like he did they kick a FG we go into over time and then Gus Bradley is an idiot which is what you and a lot of people would say.

It was the right call force Tenn to have to score a TD without any timeouts

It was a smart call. Especially with Tenn using their last time out.

The one play had decent blocking across the line.  I think if they had Yeldon in there he would have scored.  But it isn't hard to arm chair offensive coordinator the decisions.
Good call by Gus.  It's a lot different on D knowing the other team needs a TD.  They can defend the sidelines, defend deep, make tackles and keep the clock running.  Also, they can be aggressive in the pass rush since one sack or fumble ends the game.
