Germany has been spending less than their treaty-required NATO obligation for a long time. That goes on Obama, and probably Bush and Clinton too. Germany even refused to send troops to Iraq in the second gulf war. Basically our military spending is defending Germany, and we get nothing in return.

We could only hope they do that. US military bases are a huge plus for Germany, a waste of money for the US.
