Some outlets have been caught contradicting themselves as they ran with the leaks before they knew they would come back to haunt them. Never thought they would have to deny their own reports of what they at first celebrated, because they never expected him to win.

Has the Senate Oversight and Intelligence committee already begun their investigation? I think Trump wants to avoid impeding an investigation, or do anything that might hamper it legally. Just my opinion.
