Quote:Truth.

Give Bortles a top ten D and watch out league!

Even with three picks though?
Quote:It's almost like clockwork...I wonder if that's a metric that is tracked. I'd be interested to see what percentage of times our D has allowed a team to immediately score a TD following a Jags TD.

This falls directly on the coaches, they need to capture the momentum by being aggressive on defense, if you get beat over the top who cares? You're going to beat rushing 4 and playing a soft zone behind it anyway.
Thats the thing that annoys me most. It's not like we are asking for much.

All Gus had to do this year was to have an average defense and we would be flying! [BLEEP] that, even a 20th ranked defense and we would have a winning record.
Quote:Even with three picks though?
He's thrown 7 through 6 games vs 13 TDs.  And he's still ascending.

If we have a top 10 D next year, we are playoff bound, without question.  Unless Bortles is hurt.
People talking about wins and loss records for a QB are utterly clueless. This is the difference in the NFL......

JETS (4-1)- Ryan Fitzpatrick 9 TD- 7 INT-------defense #1 in NFL in opponents PPG at 15.3

JAGS (1-5)-Blake Bortles 13 TD- 7 INT----------defense #30 in NFL in opponents PPG at 29.3

Yes.

I'm of the mindset if the defense didn't leak points like a sieve, we wouldn't see as many picks as a result of BB pressing. Having said that, I'd rather have a top 10 offensive line myself...you know, one capable of run and pass blocking effectively. But clearly I'm being greedy with my preferences. Smile

When you're constantly playing from behind you have to pass to try to win, this is when you'll always seen interceptions made. If we played with a lead, ever, we could run the ball more limited the exposure of constantly passing and playing one dimensional. Defense is important.

But, keep hating on BB
We're talking about the defense that actually thought House covering Hopkins 1v1 all day long was a good idea, right?

Yeah... I don't think much more needs to be said about their decision making.

No slight against House... I don't think there's more than 1 or 2 CBs in the league right now that could contain him 1v1 all day.

Not only is the defense bad, but he's playing without a running game, like literally. It's the Blake Bortles/A-Rob/Hurns show every Sunday haha.

Good point! But costly turnovers which gives the opposing team good field position, or td still doesnt help!

Fitz has the same number of said turnovers.

100% Irrelevant. The team is giving up 29 ppg. You have to understand math to know that Bortles 7 INTs aren't the problem.
Yea but were they pick six's?

And Bortles is included in the Team!!! Smh

Here are the two facts you need to know:

1) Bortles is the best QB the Jags have ever had

2) This Jags defense is the worst in franchise history
