I wish everybody would stick to the topic here and save all of the rankings crap for a different thread. You guys make me not want to participate when the Gators play by derailing it. If this happens again, I will start my own threads for the games I care about.

c. "shifts their loyalty between team and SEC" it's because their team is subpar and they need the conference to obfuscate their true allegiance.

I really don't understand all the conference love.. If my team sucks, I'm not gonna ride the back of my conference to make myself feel better about my team sucking..

That's a very ignorant interpretation of conference pride. Its really not complicated. If the teams on your schedule (teams within your conference) play well in OOC games, that makes your schedule stronger and therefore your team look better. But again, this has been explained a 1000 times.

That's logical. It's more than that though. Two sec teams are playing, the stadium starts chanting sec. How in the heck are you rooting for your conference during the game? You would be happy if your team lost? They pounded my team, but it's ok, as long as it's another sec team. The whole chanting thing certainly comes off as, my team sucks,but they play in the best conference so im going to claim all of the teams.
