Lee, Hurns, and Robinson are still young, and I won't give up hope on them. Year 3 is usually the year where you determine what they are. Since they are entering their 2nd season, they still have a ways to go. We need Julius Thomas. We need a veteran pass catcher out there to take the pressure off our young WRS and Qb.

You're clearly an apologist giving players 3 years to develop.

Apologists are people who make excuses time and time again cultivating a culture of acceptance. Realist have to see the progress when it counts for them selves. im not exactly known as a homer... if i thought Lee or Robinson were no good, i'd say it.  Both have shown me that they have potential.  Not bust material imo.

Nobody is making excuses.  Facts aren't excuses anywhere but in the tear filled eyes of the realists who deem anything that doesn't suit their agenda an "excuse".  We get it, twitchy.  You need to be quick with your evaluations because premature is what you do.  That doesn't make you a realist.  Just a big disappointment to anyone anticipating something lasting longer than 30 seconds.

I have no idea if Robinson is a bust. Typically receivers get at least 2 years. I was just wanting to know if Jag fans are changing the normal time table from 2 years or half a year?

Technically, we did get to see him for 3 years. And he never really developed. He regressed. Doesn't mean that other players shouldn't get the benefit of the doubt. Especially with how the new CBA is structured, our young team is at a disadvantage and needs game experience. The new CBA benefits veterans in every way.

If players need 3 years to get adjusted in a career that only lasts about 7 years... maybe we're drafting the wrong guys.

I remember hearing "give them 3 years" to Gene Smiths drafts too..is it impossible to expect someone to contribute as a rookie?

Ain't that the truth. We don't have 3 years to figure out a guy can't catch. Get outta he with that bush. if these guys aren't catching the ball consistently in year two it's time to give Dave the pink slip.

Difference is, Caldwell is atleast drafting nfl quality talent with potential. Gene loved them small school players.

No! These guys are babies and need to be coddled to death. Then in about 8-10 years they should be able to contribute.
