Case in point. Brady has 45% YAC, Bress 48%, Rodgers has 46%, and all the other good QBs are at 40%+. As I said before, franchise QBs elevate the play of their teams put players in a position to be successful.

Thanks for proving the point you continue to deny. Jacksonville had 2 120 yard guys yesterday, and franchise QB's put players in a position to be successful. Remember, your words.

Could you elaborate? How is that relevant to the discussion at hand? It seems out of context as we were talking specifically about YAC. You were trying to make the point that Mariota relies too much on YAC for his production (suggesting that he is allowing other players to make the plays for him) compared to Bortles who was making the plays for his WRs because of his lower YAC %. But the facts showed that the best QBs in the NFL have quite a bit of production come from YAC. If anything, I'd argue that fact is indicative of the opposite of what you were trying to argue for. Robinson and Hurns are the type of plays that can go up in traffic and make contested catches and are making the plays for Bortles. The Titans have no such playmakers.

If anything, all you have really shown is that Mariota is doing more with less.
I worry about Mariota's long-term prospects as an NFL QB looking at that horrible footwork and lazy mechanics on that duck of a throw I posted earlier. He absolutely telegraphed it- staring a hole through the receiver, no wonder there were two DBs waiting for the ball.

You're entitled to your opinion, but you're basing his career trajectory off of ONE play on his first drive back from missing 2 games with injury and making only his 6th career start. You also ignored the larger body of work throughout the same game where he demonstrated terrific fundamentals and throwing mechanics, throwing for over 300 yards, 3 TDs, on 70% completion all the while leading a comeback win (game tying TD, 2pt conversion, game winning TD) on the road.

As I said, keep your opinion. But you're deluding yourself from reality and ignoring facts and evidence.
His girlish frame is not going to do him any favors either. Not to mention he hasn't ever shown any leadership abilities. I am worried that his upside is probably an above-average Arena League QB.

Given that he's shown more in his first 6 starts then Bortles did all of his rookie campaign, what is Bortles upside? I would imagine the the 1 inch and 5 lbs difference between them means a lot.
Also Mariota is prone to costly fumbles. I think his weak, feminine hands are going to be a big issue in the NFL.

I do think Mariota's fumbling issues are partly due to his slender ladyhands, but also just lack of awareness and intelligence.

Its not now known if Mariota will ever live up to rookie of the year phenom and Tennessee Titans legend, Vince Young.

I get that some people watch football for the game, and others because they want to gush over the bodies of sweaty athletes. Maybe Mariota won't ever be able to turn you on and arouse you like Vince, but he is a much better QB and that's all that is important to me.
Quote:You don't have an argument. Just an apparent fetish for shirtless sweaty men.

I am indifferent towards shirtless men. The "hot and bothered" comment was in regards to Tennessee Titan's legend, Vince Young's apparent disposition at the time of the photograph.

Please stay on topic. What do you attribute Mariota's egregious fumbling history to? Tiny girlish hands? Lack of awareness?

Just trying to stay relevant to your interests because you obviously don't care about the performance on the field. So who has the best biceps? Mariota, Bortles, or your heart throb VY?

I really don't understand your tone. Being the intelligent scholar that you are, I would expect you to be above the homophobic potshots you are taking at me.

Please don't get defensive if you disagree with my opinion. It seems very small of you.
Oh I don't have a horse in the race. You can be attracted to whoever you want, and I won't get defensive about it. You seemed more like a discount double check kinda guy anyway.

You seem mad about something. I'm sorry you don't share the same opinion as me. Please don't get defensive and resort to personal attacks. I would implore you to read over the code of conduct and refrain from attacking me personally.

I would be more than happy to discuss Mariota's profound fumbling issue and his history of crumbling in big spots in college.

I insure with Geico.
Just really careless play here- exemplifying several of Mariota's fatal flaws, and potentially his downfall as an NFL QB.

Bortles fumbled into the air with his own endzone to his back. Did you forget about that? Here is something that is sure to arouse you: Mariota has bigger hands than Bortles. So the relevant question for you becomes, what type of nail polish brings out his eyes?

Please stay on topic. This thread is about Marcus Mariota.

And again, there is no reason to get defensive if you disagree. Please just state your opinion in a respectful manner.
