Man, I can't wait till the first preseason game. Then we can all argue about how tight Blake's motion is or isn't.
The good news: half will think he's improved, half won't.
I almost hope he has a bad couple of series so I can see the spazzing.
It could be epic.

1 INT and the board will be in meltdown mode

Who was the clown last season that started a new thread after every Bortles INT?

Wasn't it the same one who just started the thread about how Bortles hasn't improved at all?

I dont think so. It was a guy with a Charles Bronson avatar.
I don't know what this is referring to but the coaches and players say that he has worked on a lot and seems to be paying off. The defense generally has the upper hand early in camp. I'd like to see the first team offense in a preseason game before I even pretend to know where he is in comparison to last year. I thought he was fine last year until he was worn down as the season went on as he wasn't even supposed to start. The pieces around him were all inexperienced and nothing was solidified.
That would be me and a few other people but I'm sure Blake will make me eat crow
FYI he's our QB I support him for God sake I bought a BB5 Jersey this summer
Quote:Not just every single person in the organization. The vast majority of those who have been in attendance at the first few practices are saying pretty much the same thing. This idiot is just trolling. Nothing more. It's all he knows how to do when mommy and daddy let him on the computer for his hour of the interwebs.
Quote:I appreciate your astute perspective. My post clearly stated that I was simply basing my opinion off of early training camp highlights. Since I'm serving in South Korea (so rude people like you can voice your opinion) and unable to attend any of the practices I come here for (hopefully) a more realistic assessment of what's going on with the team. Thank you for reminding me why I don't come here very often.
For those that actually posted constructive and informative feedback, thank you!
Would have probably gone a little better for you had you not seemingly bashed a second year QB with zero credible observation. Probably should have asked how he was looking since you are in S.K. protecting our freedoms by drinking soju, eating noodle bowls, and bulgogi. (Dropping the military card was tacky at best)

Nice try. Your obvious troll job got labeled as such and you got mad.
Am I supposed to feel bad? Just asking.

No, no, no, it's us that need to thank you...................for not coming here to often. Serving is SK so people can voice? Not even you believe that. SK is a government payed vacation. This board is crawling with ex and current warriors that cringed when we read this post.
Oh yeah, Bortles looks to be much improved.
Quote:I think Caldwell is building a good team but the team is only going to be able to go as far as Bortles can take them. With that said...
It doesn't look like he's improved from last year so far (very early assessment I know).
Either the receivers are still not getting open or he doesn't know how to find (or throw) an open receiver.
His release is slow, the spirals are sloppy and there doesn't look to be much zip on the ball. The D is all over his passes and the receivers.
My question is how long does DC give Bortles for development/improvemet? Or we will see Connor Cook (or another top QB prospect) in a Jags jersey next year?
Yes. It's a
very early assessment. And a very limited one at that if you are going from a handful of clips from TC.
Way too soon to be discussing Bortles' leash and/or replacement. I think they'll scour tape of the entire 2015 season and really analyze the kid before that conversation even begins. That's several months from now and we may be calling him a franchise QB by then for all we know.
Also.....
Does he drop the ball a little too low before his release? Yes. A little. Does it wobble a bit? Yes.
Does it matter? Not really. It's got enough zip and accuracy to be successful. He'll just need to throw consistently like this ^ or better. I think he can.
Quote:I am not going to post in this thread. Not one word.
Oh yeah you will. And I'll be there to see it when you do. Man, I can't wait to read your first post in here.

More than half don't know what they are looking at... Not to sound snobbish, but how many people know what goes into an NFL QB's mechanics.. I'd say I have a moderate understanding of deeper fundamentals, but either way, watching highlight video that is less than three minutes long is not going to give you a complete picture. He's still going to have off throws or step funny quite often.
I'm just guessing here but let's say during last season that 25% of his throws were good mechanically, He's probably between 40-50% at this point and the hope is that he can reach that 65%-75% threshold in the next off season .. If I were Tom House or Nathaniel Hackett, this might be my mindset in teaching a guy who has obviously not had much kinetic skill training .. it could be totally different than that
I really wouldn't even expect him to be totally comfortable for a few weeks into the season if you remember where he is coming from.
Lol, the experts are now coming out....
