Jaguars managed to lose the bye week again. Future stadium issues? (hypothetical) |

*The team is 2-9 following one of the most lop sided blowouts in NFL history
*Heavily under produced expectations
*The fans have little hope of things getting better
*The rest of the season, the best we could hope for is beating some other bottom feeder teams
*The GM has done nothing and sent no messsage to the fans there are consequences for the performance of this team
*There is always the possibility this team could beat a few other bottom feeders and give Khan confidence to bring them back.
*The fan morale is in the toilet and the ownership is good with just sitting steady.
I think KHan means well: He wants a winner it is He just doesn't make quick enough or the right decisions for this to matter. For those of you who attend the games, I salute you. I am at home watching on TV and it's so bad I turn it off before the games so I don't know how you sit there and watch this garabe.
That brings up a big Dilemma. That new Stadium will be up in a few years. The Jaguars are perpetual losers. How is Khan going to sell tickets to this garbage product on the field? If the team continues to struggle and just like now there is no hope for the future, I can see that Stadium opening up to empty seats.

Defense for the next coaching staff. |

I'm expecting a clean or majority sweep of the coaching staff. This will focus on the defense:
Which scheme: 4-3 or 3-4?
Personally, I have to go with the 4-3. I feel Travon has gotten much more out of it being on the line rather than standing. Hines-Allen has also applied good pressure being on the line. There needs to be better play inside. That's going to be a key focus going into the offseason. Will Maason Smith show up? Will they kept Armstead around? Hamilton has not played well either. Looking forward to seeing what the next staff does with the interior DL.
Will there be plenty of substitutions and players out of their usual positions?
With Ryan gone, we can breathe a little better.
How does the second level look?
One of the main struggles with the LB group this year has been the pass defense. Devin Lloyd continues to struggle here. Miller hasn't been doing well either. Foye has had good and bad games in the passing defense. Muma in brief play, according to PFF, has shown to be the better of the entire group. No where near great though. However this team approaches their outside LBs, they need to key in on better pass defenders than what this team currently has.
And the secondary?
The FA acquisition of Darby has fell flat. Campbell has been on and off with nagging injuries. And the backup CBs? Well, playing like young backups. Safety play has been lacking. Cisco is taking a step back. Antonio tried. He's just a reserve player. Nothing more. Savage....hasn't impressed me either. This secondary should be looking at 2 new starters minimum next season.
Has the current scheme affected the players in a negative way?
Without a doubt. A new scheme for one to adjust to. Not having the correct personnel to run it properly. Lack of serious in-game adjustments in close matches. Too many awkward rotations and sub counts. Whole thing is messy.
I hope with whoever runs this defense keeps it simple and focuses on the fundamentals. Rather than trying to think too far outside the box. I expect the new staff to focus on putting Trevor Lawrence in the best situation possible. Can't expect the defense to be fixed in one offseason. We will still see a few starters we may not be happy with. I'm looking forward to seeing who the new DC will be and how he will approach the current roster.

Goals for the rest of the season |

Hey guys, what are your thoughts on your main goals for the Jaguars for the the rest of the season? This is excluding the obvious of having the coaching staff and GM fired. For me, the main thing I want to see is Brian Thomas Jr. get over 1000 yards. I also want tank to have some nice Bounce back games when he comes back from injury. Regarding Trevor, I want him to rest up and get healthy and not try to rush back for in last season. What are the main things you wanna see happen with the remaining games?

TWITAFCS standings
Hoo boy. To the surprise of nobody, the Jags got smoked on Sunday. To the surprise of many, indynoplace enjoyed decent quarterback play on a Sunday. Oh yeah, tinhorns won, tacks lost, and water remains wet. Pickers are thinning out as the season drags on, thanks in large part to a very boring and predictable AFCS season. To make matters worse, only two picks this week, and it's unlikely that there's much variation among the picks.
TN @ HOU: Come on, sweet meteor of death, we're pulling for a surprise appearance this weekend. PLEASE.
DET @ IND: Gus Bradley's best hope is that the loins are still gassed from Sunday's track meet against the hapless Jags.
Duval is on a bye, and at 1330 Monday EST, it appears that the owner is also taking the week off. Picking games is not a challenge for this team, but figuring out how they operate? Well that's a whole other story.
Good luck this week, pickers!

Joe Douglas fired |

NYJ figure head GM Joe Douglas has been fired.
Not the move I was looking for, phone, keep trying.
Jest were 30-64 under his tenure. 2 failures at QB, catered the roster to suit Rodgers. If Rodgers does not retire, it will be tough to fill that vacancy.
Hopefully this is the move that inspires other teams to take similar actions. [clears throat emphatically in the direction of the Kismet]
