Jags secondary needs a catchy name

Not all nicknames are stupid. Sacksonville is a good one because it is based on what the defense loves to do and does very well: sack QBs.

Is Bortles Snarf?

Either Snarf or the Twins.  Pretty sure Fournette or Ramsey are Lion-O.

I like ” Duvalcatraz “. Saw that on the NFL.com page. No one escapes alive!

That's a good one, but it still runs a distant 2nd to Steve.

8 pages and most of you have come up with terrible trash that should be left in a trash can.

Someone actually said River Monsters was the best name so far. What? Do you really want to be watching the Jags on TV and hear an announcer call them the River Monsters? Come on man.

How can you even say Teal Team Six out loud and actually want that to stick? It sounds beyond [BLEEP], but 99% of the suggestions sounded pretty [BLEEP] so what should I expect lol... something will come along on it's own that fits like glue, it's painfully obvious how bad it's going to be if the fan base picks it lol

I agree; less than five ideas are decent.

>5 is actually throwing a few people a bone in this thread because I couldn't even count 3 that sounded worthwhile.

Teal Team Six sounds idiotic, Jackson or Jaxson 5 just no... I want to like because of the almost Jacksonville like reference but why would you reuse the name for an old old famous group?

This team just needs to keep performing and let a nickname come to them. Period. If after 8 pages nothing sounds good, let it go.

And theres a reason that most articles written about the name Sacksonville include that the team twitter started the name. People know that picking your own nickname is lame, no matter how cool or appropriate the name becomes.

Or you could say the defensive line named itself by sacking QBs 10 times.

Does anyone else have a problem with the descriptor "saucy" pertaining to our defense?

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

Nah... them boys are pretty saucy.
Especially J Ram

I like Sacksonville (which doesn't really discount the amazing cover job our back end does to allow the sacks to roll)
I'm not into the names with numbers... which 5 or 6 guys are you singling out and who is left out... Ramsey, Jack, Smith, AJ, Gip, Campbell, Fowler, Yannick, Church and Colvin all have been ballin'.

Thundercats is cool... but very generic rip offy

Yeah, but we are cats so you have a double meaning there. Moreover, nobody would throw into a Cat 5 hurricane.

Yes. With the way I feel about it as a Jags fan, I can't even imagine what other teams think of this.

When I read "Cat 5" I only think of what it is, short for Category. So would everyone else. Especially coming from Jacksonville, which was recently affected by a hurricane that at one point was a Cat 5, it would sound awful.

I thought Attack Cats might be good, but it sounds more like our strength is run defense.

Other teams don't complain about Legion of Boom, No Fly Zone, or NYPD (New York Pass Defense) too much, do they?

Dan Hanzus made that up. I never liked him because of his writing style and what many of his articles are about.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are asking for help coming up with a nickname for their defense and secondary. Dan Hanzus is here to help.

I like Sacksonville for the front 7 and Jaxson Five for the DB's

I do like Teal Team Six too

Compare what has come up in this thread to those and you'll have your answer. Saucy and Thundercats...come on! Killer Kitties next?
