Believe it or not the nickname Sacksonville came from Malik Jackson when he joined the team. He wore a t-shirt with the name expecting a lot of sacks a year too early.

And theres a reason that most articles written about the name Sacksonville include that the team twitter started the name. People know that picking your own nickname is lame, no matter how cool or appropriate the name becomes.
