Minshew is the man.

I think sometimes he just tries to do too much and elevate the team because they’re not good. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Yesterday afternoon, one of the hosts on NFL Sirius Radio compared Gardner Minshaw II to Jeff Garcia in a complimentary way. The Moxie is evident. (In addition to comparions to.other QBs) Trent Dilfer said last season he:'s a lot like Tony Romo and that Gardner Minshew is a franchise QB. He said that him and Drew.Bledsoe have watched Gardner and had discussions about him.. Drew also really likes Gardner. I do think he does get concerned about getting behind (and lately that's been largely due to the defense getting the team in a hole. And that can contribute to him trying to do too much. Hopefully he'll learn to become settled even in situations loke that. And do the things he does best including, making.smart.accurate plays. If he does that he can help keep the team in games. And I think he could end up being fine. I think that Gardner is a quality starter in this league like Greg Cosell has stated. Minshew isn’t the guy if we want to be legit contenders year in and year out. I’d like to tank for Trevor it’s not a guarantee he is but it’s a decent shot he is and I think it’s clear minshew is not that guy don’t waste the next 3 years or more before realizing it. The worst qb in the league are the Phillip rivers and Matt stafford guys your completely stuck for 15 years you’re better off with a scrub like trubisky at least you know you need to replace him

Minshew has 15 starts, you don't clearly know anything about a QB with that small a sample size. Only losers WANT to lose. If Trevor isn't a guarantee, how do you know he's not the next Matt Stafford or Philip Rivers (who was a beast in his younger days mind you). Shoot he could be the next Jameis Winston. Wasted first overall pick. You just want the next hot thing and if Trevor flames out in 2 years you'd be clamoring for the next college star hoping he magically fixes a roster devoid of talent. Does Trevor play defense? Or OL? Can he catch? Serious questions... Minshew ain't perfect and he may end up not being a franchise QB. We'll know much more by seasons end. But you can keep all that tank talk. Minshew is in his 2nd year, 3 games in... pump the brakes on the sky falling chicken little.
Getting a 3 tech that can force pressure up the middle and a good FS should be our top 2 positions of need entering the draft

I hope we get Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields because I rather have hope then to be stuck in QB purgatory ![]()
QB isn't the problom, the problom is our loser HC. we could have brady, rogers, even favr in his prime, and we would still be a loseing team. doug is a loser.

Watching the games he just doesn’t have the physical traits to be elite. I really wanted him to succeed but even in the first 2 games you could see his shortcomings. It’s better to realize it now than waiting 5 years and having a built roster but not good enough to win it all because he can’t do it. And what a golden opportunity with one of the best qb prospects of all time just makes to much sense
Minshew still isn't bad enough to lead us to Lawrence, but I do think he is good enough to give us a fun rest of this season and next year too while we let Trey Lance develop for a season. That's my current hope.

I loved Blake. I was so excited when we drafted him. Blake and Gardner are both very entertaining while under pressure, not statues like Leftwich or armadillos like Gabbert. There were games where everything clicked for Blake and Gardner both. And even though neither of them are that guy every game, Gardner's already done it more times than Blake did.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

We'd have to trade up to get Lawrence and That would cost us multiple first round picks and even more. IMO, he's the only QB worth drafting in round 1. The next best guy on my list is believe it or not, Kyle Trask. I was impressed by him last season. I gotta see how he fares this year, but from what I saw in 2019, I saw something. I normally hate drafting Florida players.

This is a results-oriented business. There are no trophies or titles given for "moral victories" or for "winning the draft". Our record with DC is 37-86. 6-10 is our 2nd best season in 8 years of Caldwell leadership. These are the FACTS.

He needs to finally start playing consistently. He'll go in stretches where he looks like a first rounder, then he goes into slumps. I said Trey Lance to start, since I agree we aren't going to be bad enough to get Lawrence. I also said he would sit for a season. That gives us Lance plus a year of development, two more full drafts including several extra picks, and a huge amount of cap space.

He's been a starter for 1 season at tiny NDSU and due to Covid 19, their season has been cancelled in 2020, but you want to spend a first rounder on this guy? That sounds like something Gene Smith would do. |
