I doubt this is covered as a protection in their CBA, and players get cut for health reasons all the time. At the risk of being told to take it to the Political Talk forum.... 1 - The vaccine isn't "experimental", no matter what your Facebook friends tell you. 2 - It's FDA approved, and it's based on research from other SARS vaccine work that's been going on for almost 20 years. 3 - I realize there is a CBA in the NFL, but typically employers have the right to set the rules people work under. 4 - If anyone doesn't want to be vaccinated and feels that strongly about it, they are free to earn their livelihood elsewhere. 5 - NFL players don't know what's in ANY of the shots they are given, and if it wasn't political they would just line up and take the shot in order to have a better chance to avoid unpaid/forfeited games and to have a better chance to be available to help their team. Only one vaccine is "FDA approved".

Best ability is availability, if you’re not vaccinated with the current set of rules put forth by the NFL you’re not doing everything you can to win. Right, wrong, or indifferent that’s the facts of the current NFL policy Just providing some facts to accompany your inaccurate statement. You're entitled to your opinions of the FDA. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Back to topic of Jags cuts : I found the Costin and Ozigbo cuts a little perplexing. Thought those guys put some good play on tape. I wonder what we'll see added to that RB room. You'd think they have to be eyeing someone with some C.o.P or hybrid skillset. The NFL on the other hand has to realize you can still get covid and infect others even if you have had the vaccine. In fact, it has already happened multiple times. I was also surprised by those 2 cuts. I had thought this was it for Tavon Bryan, but didn't take into account the fact that every new coach/coaching staff thinks they can "fix" underperforming 1st round picks/draft busts.

Second, assuming we can find an average safety in the sixth round is wishful thinking. Our sixth round wide receiver this year didn't even make our 53 man roster. Third, it's false that Wilson can't play on special teams. He has more career snaps on special teams than Wingard. He almost has twice as many. He just played little there last year because he was the starting free safety. Fourth, I see Wilson as only being one injury away from playing. Jenkins and Cisco are our starters. If there's an injury to Jenkins, Jarrod Wilson is clearly the most reliable option at free safety. He has 28 starts over the last two years. I'd keep Thomas for development, but he has little experience and is unproven at this point. If you want a special teamer and emergency backup, fine, keep Ford. Our special teams will be fine without Wingard and he is horrible at playing defense. It probably doesn't mater too much though. I think there's a very good chance Wingard is no longer on the roster two days from now. Yes, let's trade away a bunch of future draft picks in order to get an average safety when we could have just NOT CUT an average safety. I agree, this really isn't rocket science. Our sixth rounder being cut is relevant because you claimed that you can find an average player with a sixth round pick. Do you need me to show you a list of our sixth round picks in history? Obviously there's going to be the occasional exception, but the players who I would consider "average" are clearly in the minority. Many didn't even make the team and the careers of most of the ones who do were short lived with minimal contributions. Salaries is a red herring. While you can argue Wilson is "more", his salary isn't significant and we are well under the cap. While Cisco maybe "can" play free safety, he's more suited to strong safety. I don't want one injury to weaken two positions. Ford is here for special teams and emergency backup. I would much rather Wilson(FS)/Cisco (SS) than Cisco(FS)/Ford(SS). You claim Thomas is better at playing safety than Wilson, but Wilson started over him last year. You are also trying to make a false choice. I would keep both. It's not Wilson versus Thomas. It's Wilson versus Wingard. The comparison here isn't even close. Wingard is an absolute disaster at safety. The couple of yards of average field position he might generate on special teams doesn't outweigh his complete incompetence on defense if injuries occur.

I guess the decision was made before the Dallas game because Ozigbo and Cotton showed out and still got cut.

20 minutes until the waiver claim deadline. I'll be shocked if we didn't claim Tyron Johnson.
